Pipeline Inspection Device
A device to inspect a pipeline includes a device housing movable relative to the pipeline, a radiation device, and an imaging device. The radiation device is coupled to the device housing and disposed adjacent to the pipeline. The imaging device is coupled to the device housing and disposed adjacent to the pipeline. The imaging device is disposed opposite to the radiation device relative to the pipeline. The imaging device receives radiation from the radiation device to provide an imaging signal. Because the radiation device and the imaging device are disposed opposite to each other relative to the pipeline, the pipeline inspection device can provide an enhanced image in a single pass of the pipeline.
Method for joint measuring argon-argon age and cosmic ray exposure age of extraterrestrial samples
A method for joint measuring argon-argon age and cosmic ray exposure age of an extraterrestrial sample is provided. The method for joint measuring determining argon age and cosmic ray exposure age may include: step A, sample packaging; step B, placing the packaged samples into a neutron reactor for irradiation; and step C, determining Ar isotopes of the packaged samples after being performed with a neutron irradiation and thereby calculating argon-argon age and cosmic ray exposure age. The method can overcome the defects of the prior art, and achieve high-precision simultaneous determination of the argon-argon age and the cosmic ray exposure age of samples.
METHOD FOR OPTIMIZING RADIATION BEAM INTENSITY PROFILE SHAPE USING DUAL MULTIPLE APERTURE DEVICES
The present invention is directed to multiple aperture devices (MADs) for beam shaping in x-ray imaging. Two or more of these binary filters can be placed in an x-ray beam in series to permit a large number of x-ray fluence profiles. However, the relationship between particular MAD designs and the achievable fluence patterns is complex. The present invention includes mathematical and physical models that are used within an optimization framework to find optimal MAD designs. Specifically, given a set of target fluence patterns, the present invention finds, for example, a dual MAD design that is a “best fit” in generating the desired fluence patterns. This process provides a solution for both the design of MAD filters as well as the control actuation that is required (relative motion between MADs) that needs to be specified as part of the operation of a MAD-based fluence field modulation system.

Divergent beam two dimensional diffraction
A two-dimensional X-ray diffractometer uses an X-ray source that emits a divergent beam toward a sample under test. The divergent beam has a substantially fixed width in a first direction perpendicular to its propagation direction, and a thickness in a second direction perpendicular to the propagation direction that increases proportionally to a distance from the source. An aperture may be used to block a portion of the beam in the second direction, and the sample is positioned so that the beam illuminates a two-dimensional area of the sample surface. The detector detects an X-ray signal diffracted from the sample across a two-dimensional detection area, and may use a one-dimensional detector array that collects diffracted X-ray signal at a number of different positions. The source, detector and sample may be mounted to a goniometer to maintain them in a desired relative orientation.
Alloy powder cleanliness inspection using computed tomography
A system and method are provided including an inclusion module to receive a powder sample from a powder source; a computed tomography equipment; a memory for storing program instructions; an inclusion processor, coupled to the memory, and in communication with the inclusion module, and operative to execute program instructions to: receive the powder sample; execute a computed tomography (CT) scan process of the received sample to generate a first dataset including one or more images; identify inclusions in the one or more images, via a segmentation process; reconstruct, via a reconstruction process, the identified inclusion into a 3D representation; measure the identified inclusion; mark the inclusions on one or more image slices from the 3D representations; and determine whether the powder source is contaminated based on the one or more marked images. Numerous other aspects are provided.
Visualization system and method for multiphase fluids displacement experiment with large viscosity difference in complex pore structure
A visualization system and method for a multiphase fluids displacement seepage experiment with large viscosity difference in a complex pore structure. The visualization system includes: an injection pump assembly, a visualized complex pore model, a vacuum pressure pump and an image acquisition device; the system and method are printed by a 3D printing device to form the visualized complex pore model with at least two permeability, and displacement fluid mediums of different viscosities are injected into the visualized complex pore model through different injection pumps during an experiment, so that not only is the penetration of the same viscosity in the complex pore structure with different permeability observed, but also the displacement and plugging effect of different viscosities successively entering the complex pore structure with different permeability is realized.
System and method for electromagnetic beamforming and imaging at low frequency
A technique for measuring properties of a material includes measuring the electromagnetic radiation scattered by one or more scattering points associated with the material, and adjusting the radiation according to the respective sensitivities of the scattering points to changes in material properties at that scattering point for several pairs of radiation sources and receivers. The material properties are determined using the updated measurements and corresponding simulated measurements.
