OPTICAL LENS ASSEMBLY AND OPTICAL MEASUREMENT METHOD

An optical lens assembly is adapted for receiving a light beam that is emitted by an object, and includes a lens unit and a sleeve unit. The lens unit includes a casing that has a light-incident side adapted for receiving the light beam. The sleeve unit surrounds the light-incident side of the casing, and defines a light-receiving space that is adapted for the light beam to pass through so that propagation of the light beam is unaffected by disturbance caused by movement of air. An optical measurement method includes steps of: a) providing a lens unit, a sleeve unit, and an object that is for emitting a light beam; and b) operating the lens unit so that the light beam is received by the lens unit.

Method for monitoring the functional capability of the cooling system of a high-voltage accumulator

A method monitors the functional capability of the cooling system of an operating high-voltage accumulator for an electric drive unit of a motor vehicle. The method repeatedly measures the temperature of the high-voltage accumulator by use of a temperature sensor mounted on the high-voltage accumulator; checks whether the measured temperature value is above a cooling threshold temperature; determines a profile of the temperature of the high-voltage accumulator using a temporal sequence of the measured temperature values of the high-voltage accumulator which are above the cooling threshold temperature; and diagnoses that the cooling system is operating correctly if the temperature profile does not exceed a predetermined threshold.

A method and system for grading pistons with deposits is disclosed. In an embodiment, a piston with an outer surface and deposits upon the outer surface is increased in temperature and thermally scanned. The deposits are identified based on the temperature differences measured with respect to the temperature of the outer surface of the piston. Deposit characteristics can be generated from the identified locations of deposits and the magnitude of temperature difference with respect to the outer surface. The deposit characteristics are recorded and used to grade the pistons.
