Ion Source with Gas Delivery for High-Fidelity Analysis
In a system for processing gas, a gas analyzer in a gas analyzer chamber measures a quantity of ions generated from a gas. An ionization source includes an ionization chamber and an electron source for generating ions for the gas analyzer. The ionization chamber encompasses an ionization region in which particles of the gas are charged to form the ions. A channel directs the gas from a gas source into the ionization chamber, and the channel extends to a surface of the ionization chamber. An ionization source vacuum pump is in gaseous communication with the ionization chamber via a substantially large opening, and operates to draw gas from the ionization chamber.
Device for detecting compaction and shear strength characteristics of asphalt mixture during construction compaction
A device is for detecting compaction and shear strength characteristics of an asphalt mixture during construction compaction. The device includes a fixed frame and a detection system. The detection system includes a display, a control panel, a test claw, an electric motor, a lift switch, a torque sensor and a temperature sensor. The control panel includes a power switch for controlling the electric motor and a speed regulator for controlling a rotation speed of the test claw. An output end of the electric motor is connected to an input end of the torque sensor, and an output end of the torque sensor is connected to an input end of the test claw. An output end of the test claw is provided with a claw-shaped blade. The claw-shaped blade is provided therein with the temperature sensor.
NOx sensor element and NOx sensor
A NOx sensor element includes: a first pump cell configured to adjust an oxygen concentration in a first measurement chamber; a diffusion resistance portion configured to adjust a diffusion rate of a measurement target gas introduced into the first measurement chamber; and a second pump cell in which a pump current corresponding to a NOx concentration in the measurement target gas after the adjustment of the oxygen concentration, flows. The first pump cell includes: a first solid electrolyte; an inner pump electrode containing a noble metal, and exposed to the first measurement chamber; and an outer pump electrode containing a noble metal, and disposed outside the first measurement chamber. The outer pump electrode contains not less than 22% by mass of a main component of the first solid electrolyte.
MICROELECTROMECHANICAL SENSOR AND SENSING MODULE THEREOF
A microelectromechanical sensor includes a base, a heater provided on the base, and a sensing electrode including a sensing portion. The heater includes a heating portion. The heater and the sensing electrode are provided at different layers in a stacking direction, and the sensing electrode is electrically insulated from the heater. On a reference plane in the stacking direction, a projection of the sensing portion of the sensing electrode is entirely covered by a projection of the heating portion of the heater.
GAS SENSOR COMPRISING ONE OR MORE SENSING WIRES
Numerous embodiments of a gas sensor and associated methods are described. In one embodiment, a gas sensor comprises a single wire. The resistance of the wire is measured for different temperatures, or the current through the wire or the voltage across the wire is measured for a constant temperature, and a profile for the surrounding gases is generated, enabling the surrounding gases to be identified. In another embodiment, a gas sensor comprises a first wire and a second wire in close proximity, where the first wire is used to generate temperature conditions, and the resistance of the second wire is measured for the different temperature conditions, or the current through the wire or the voltage across the wire is measured for a constant temperature. A profile for the surrounding gases is generated, enabling the surrounding gases to be identified.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DETECTING AEROSOLIZED VIRAL PARTICLES
Systems and methods are provided for reliably detecting aerosolized virus particles using electrochemical characteristics of the virus, and its interaction with π-conjugated conducting solid-state substrates.
Apparatus and method for collecting environmental samples
An unmanned aerial vehicle detector includes an unmanned aerial vehicle, a pump/detector combination on the unmanned aerial vehicle and a tube connected at a proximal end to the pump/detector combination. The pump/detector combination is configured to draw gas samples from a distal end of the tube to the detector and to detect a level of a gas drawn from within a prescribed distance above ground level. A processor determines the wind velocity at the unmanned aerial vehicle location.
METHOD OF GRADIENT HARVESTING PLANT PRODUCT AND COMBINE HARVESTER FOR THE SAME
A method of harvesting plant product from a plant in a single pass using a combine harvester is disclosed. In the method, the plant has a protein content gradient that varies along a height of the plant. The method includes identifying, along a longitudinally-extending stalk of the plant, an upper protein gradient of the plant including high protein plant product and a lower protein gradient of the plant including lower protein plant product, wherein the high protein plant product from the upper protein gradient of the plant meets a threshold protein content that is higher than that of the lower protein plant product. The method also includes separately and substantially simultaneously harvesting the high protein plant product from the upper protein gradient and the lower protein plant product from the lower protein gradient in the single pass, and isolating the high protein plant product from the lower protein plant product.
Methods of delivery of encapsulated perfluorocarbon taggants
A system and method for tagging, tracking, locating and identifying people and vehicles transporting people using Perfluorocarbon tracers. An on-going problem faced by military as well as law enforcement personnel is that of friendly fire incidents. To prevent possible friendly-fire incidents, troops would separate the two layers of the uniform patch, thereby releasing a controlled release of the Perfluorocarbon vapors. Other “friendly” troops, equipped with sensors tuned to the specific perfluorocarbon characteristics would thus be able to literally view a plume around the tagged person or object. The system may conversely be used to tag enemies. Formulations of mixed perfluorocarbons may be used to provide coding of emissions.
