Substrates, peptide arrays, and methods
Disclosed herein are formulations, substrates, and arrays. Also disclosed herein are methods for manufacturing and using the formulations, substrates, and arrays. Also disclosed are methods for identifying peptide sequences useful for diagnosis and treatment of disorders, and methods for using the peptide sequences for diagnosis and treatment of disorders, e.g., celiac disorder. In certain embodiments, substrates and arrays comprise a porous layer for synthesis and attachment of polymers or biomolecules.
IDENTIFICATION OF HEALTH STATUS IN THE ELDERLY USING IMMUNOLOGICAL BIOMARKERS
A method for determining the health status of an elderly individual by testing the sample extracted from the individual for the presence of biomarkers, the bio markers being autoantibodies to antigens comprising MAPK13, CD96, FKBP3, PPM1A, PHLDA1, GLRX3, FEN1 and AURKA, wherein the antigens may further comprise one or more of UBE2I, AAK1, YARS, ASPSCR1, CASP10, FHOD2, TCL1A and MAP4, wherein PHLDA1 and CD96 correspond to healthy, AURKA, FEN1, CASP10 and AAK1 correspond to intermediate health, and UBE2I, YARS, ASPSCR1, FHOD2, TCL1A, MAP4, MAPK13, FKBP3, PPM1A and GLRX3 correspond to unhealthy.
Controllable transcription
The present invention relates to a stable method for introducing at least one inducible cassette into a cell, and permitting controllable transcription from within that inducible cassette. The method may be used for any cell type, from any eukaryotic organism, but has a particular application in the introduction of inducible cassettes into pluripotent stem cells, such as animal or human pluripotent stem cells (hPSCs). The inducible cassette is controllably inserted in such a way to ensure that the genetic material it contains is not silenced or subject to negative influences from the insertion site, and transcription of the genetic material is controlled.
Molecular diagnostic assay system
Improved sub-assemblies and methods of control for use in a diagnostic assay system adapted to receive an assay cartridge are provided herein. Such sub-assemblies include: a brushless DC motor, a door opening/closing mechanism and cartridge loading mechanism, a syringe and valve drive mechanism assembly, a sonication horn, a thermal control device and optical detection/excitation device. Such systems can further include a communications unit configured to wirelessly communicate with a mobile device of a user so as to receive a user input relating to functionality of the system with respect to an assay cartridge received therein and relaying a diagnostic result relating to the assay cartridge to the mobile device.
Method of analyzing post-translational modifications
The invention relates to a new method of determining the presence, absence, number or position(s) of one or more post-translational modifications in a peptide, polypeptide or protein. The invention uses transmembrane pores.
Compositions and methods for analyzing cysteine
The present invention relates to compositions and methods for determining the absolute configuration of D/L-cysteine and/or the enantiomeric composition of cysteine and/or the concentration of total cysteine in a sample. Uses of the composition and method are also described.
IL-1 Binding Proteins
Proteins that bind IL-1α and IL-1β are described along with their use in compositions and methods for treating, preventing, and diagnosing IL-1-related disorders and for detecting IL-1α and IL-1β in cells, tissues, samples, and compositions.
COLLECTOR FOR DETECTION AND REVERSIBLE CAPTURING OF CELLS FROM BODY FLUIDS IN VIVO
A biomaterial collection device can include a wire that includes a functional member including a proximal end, a distal end, a first flat surface and a second flat surface opposing the first surface. The functional member can be configured to fit within a body lumen. The functional member can include binding elements configured to bind circulating biomolecules and cells. The functional member can include curved portions that form revolutions around the longitudinal axis of the device.
IL-3 antibodies and their use in diagnosis and treatment of diseases or malfunctions associated with elevated levels of IL-3
Novel anti-interleukin 3 (IL-3) antibodies or fragments or constructs thereof according to the present invention specifically bind to an epitope contained within the N-terminal 20 amino acids of the amino acid sequence of human IL-3 according to SEQ ID No. 1, and preferably to a sequence motif SWVN (SEQ ID NO: 2). The antibodies can be used in diagnostic methods for the determination of IL-3 levels in body fluids, preferably in corresponding ELISA assays, but also in pharmaceutical compositions for the treatment or prevention of diseases which are associated with elevated levels of IL-3 in a patient, especially rheumatoid arthritis.
