11397339 · 2022-07-26 · ·

A computer-implemented method for determining centring is disclosed. At least two calibrated images of the head which are captured simultaneously from different viewing directions are provided, and geometric parameters which describe the position of the eyes are determined by geometric position determination. A three-dimensional data set describing geometric parameters of the frame front is provided; the geometric parameters of the frame front and the geometric parameters describing the position of the eyes are brought into relation to each other with a rigid transformation; and the centring parameters are calculated from the geometric parameters describing the frame front and those describing the position of the eyes.

METHOD FOR DETERMINING AN ORIENTED 3D REPRESENTATION OF THE HEAD OF A PERSON IN A NATURAL VISUAL POSTURE

A method for implemented by computer means for determining an oriented 3D representation of the head of a person in a natural visual posture, including receiving a first dataset corresponding to a first 3D representation of the head of the person in a first frame and the position of the rotation center of at least one eye of the person in said first frame, determining a second dataset corresponding to the orientation of the head of the person in a natural visual posture in a second frame, and determining an oriented 3D representation of the head of the person by orienting the first 3D representation of the head of the person based on the orientation of the head of the person in a common frame.

Method for manufacturing toric contact lenses

A method of manufacturing of an astigmatic contact lens having a toric portion and a thickness differential feature to provide lens orientation on eye portion such that said thickness differential causes the toric portion of the contact lens to properly orient in the eye of the wearer. The toric lenses are manufactured by an effective process control method for cylinder power in toric lens production by determining an amount of a mold cylinder compensation which is caused by processes in a toric lens manufacturing system including tool making, injection molding, casting and curing, wherein the mold cylinder is defined as the difference in measured radius of curvature at two orthogonal directions. A control metric is established by using the amount of a mold cylinder compensation and tolerance range and reject mold out of the control limits and improve the production yield for toric lens manufacturing.

DATA RECORD FOR USE IN A METHOD FOR PRODUCING A SPECTACLE LENS

A data record contains at least the following data values: spatial coordinates of a reference point at each eye of the wearer; a spatial direction vector for specifying a viewing direction of the wearer through the spectacle lens; and a spatial rim curve or edge curve. The data record can be used to produce a spectacle lens. A method and a computer program for generating the data record, and a method for producing the spectacle lens are also disclosed. It is possible to produce the spectacle lens after a single capture of a data record for adapting the spectacle lenses to the wearer of the pair of spectacles and to the spectacle frame selected by the wearer. A different spectacle lens as the spectacle lens originally selected can subsequently be used as the spectacle lens without having to record a further data record for the adaptation for the wearer.

DETERMINATION OF AT LEAST ONE OPTICAL PARAMETER OF A SPECTACLE LENS

A method, a device, and a computer program for determining at least one optical parameter of a spectacle lens, and a method for manufacturing the spectacle lens using the at least one optical parameter are disclosed. The optical parameter denotes a value for a property of the spectacle lens which is adjusted during manufacture of the spectacle lens to achieve an intended correction of ametropia of at least one eye of a user of the spectacle lens. The method includes: a) capturing at least one image of a user wearing the spectacle lens; and b) determining at least one optical parameter of the spectacle lens by image processing the at least one image, wherein the at least one image contains an eye portion including at least one eye and/or a face portion adjacent to at least one eye of a user of the spectacle lens.

Glasses with selectively adjustable optical power lenses

A method of fabricating a lens element for an adjustable power lens of the kind comprising two lens elements that are slidable relative to one other in a direction transverse the optical axis of the lens and have respective lens surfaces that are shaped to act together to form a corrective lens, the power of which varies according to the relative disposition of the two lens elements, the method comprising the steps of forming a lens puck having two opposite faces, which are shaped to form opposite lens surfaces of one of the lens elements of the adjustable power lens, the puck having at least one alignment feature, and thereafter edging the puck to a desired eye shape with reference to the alignment feature.

A method of preparing individual spectacle lenses (L) in accordance with a prescription order comprises the steps of: (i) blocking, a provided lens blank (LR) as workpiece on a block piece provided from a plurality of block pieces (B) from a block piece store (BL), (ii) processing the blocked lens blank at least at a second surface so as to obtain a blocked, processed spectacle lens (L) as workpiece, and (iii) deblocking the processed spectacle lens from the block piece, wherein the workpiece, optionally in the blocked state, is transported between the steps (i) to (iii) in one of a plurality of provided transport boxes (T). In the method, the block pieces prior to the step (i) of blocking are stored in the transport boxes in the block piece store and, for the step (i) of blocking, are provided in the transport boxes from the block piece store.

A method for manufacturing one-piece corrective eyewear. The method includes a first step wherein an item with essentially flat blank shape is formed by a 3D-printing process. The item encompasses two lens portions, a bridge portion, and two temple portions; or the two lens portions and the bridge portion. The method includes a second step wherein the item is deformed into a wearable shape. During the first step a frame portion surrounding the lens portions is formed as part of the blank shape.
