A phase difference compensation element, including: a transparent substrate; a first optical anisotropic layer that includes an inorganic material, and has a C-plate retardance; and a second optical anisotropic layer that includes an inorganic material, and includes an oblique angle vapor deposition film that does not have an O-plate retardance, wherein the phase difference compensation element including the first optical anisotropic layer and the second optical anisotropic layer in combination has a quasi-O-plate retardance.

An image display apparatus according to an embodiment of the present technology includes an optical modulator, an optical device, and a sensor unit. The optical device splits a modulated light beam modulated by the optical modulator into a first split light beam and a second split light beam, the first split light beam and the second split light beam each travelling in a different direction, and prevents a light beam, which backwardly travels on an optical path of the first split light beam and enters the optical device, from travelling along an optical path of the second split light beam. The sensor unit is disposed on the optical path of the second split light beam and detects a state of the second split light beam.

Structured light projection module and depth camera
A structured light projection module and a depth camera are provided. The structured light projection module includes: a light source array including a plurality of sub-light sources arranged in a two-dimensional pattern and configured to transmit array beams corresponding to the two-dimensional pattern; a lens configured to receive and converge the array beams; and a diffractive optical element configured to receive the array beams that are emitted after being converged by the lens and project beams in a structured light speckle pattern. The structured light speckle pattern is formed through staggered superposition of at least two secondary structured light speckle patterns. Each secondary structured light speckle pattern is formed through a tiling arrangement of multiple sub-speckle patterns generated by a portion of the sub-light sources, and comprises speckles formed by diffracting an individual sub-light source via the diffractive optical element.

An optical system of a semi-vertical single LCD (liquid crystal display) projector includes a projection light source, a condenser, an illuminating reflector, a collimating lens, a heat reflecting glass, an LCD light valve, a field lens, an imaging reflector and a projection lens, all of which are set in sequence according to a direction of light, wherein the illuminating reflector reflects and turns light irradiating the LCD light valve in up and down directions, and the imaging reflector performs mirror reflection and turning on light emitted by the LCD light valve in left and right directions. The present invention obtains a new optical system structure, creates a novel stacking and a novel projector appearance, and has low cost, small size and complete integration.

There is provided an information processing device and an information processing method which are capable of setting a projection plane in a more appropriate form. The information processing device includes a registration unit configured to register display control information for displaying display information on a projection plane, the display control information being generated based on sensor data obtained from a sensor provided in first equipment installed at the projection plane, and a display control unit configured to project the display information onto the projection plane and display the display information based on the display control information. The present technology can be applied to a projection system that displays information by projection.
