MECHANICALLY DRIVEN DISPLAY
Mechanically driven display for showing a value of a measured quantity such as a time period or a physical parameter, whereby the display consists of a row of balls, which are moved one after the other in one row through a fixed bed by means of at least one mechanical drive, and whereby the row of balls has the colour of the background and the fixed bed but whereby one or more segments of the row of balls have a colour that visibly deviates from the background colour in which the bed is integrated.
Time display device, electronic timepiece, time display control method and storage medium
A time display device, including: an indication display unit which displays a content according to an indicating operation, and a processor, wherein in a case where a remaining time with respect to a reference set time of an elapsed time from a measuring start timing is greater than a predetermined reference remaining time, the processor makes the indication display unit display a ratio of the remaining time with respect to the reference set time, and in a case where the remaining time is equal to or less than the predetermined reference remaining time, the processor makes the indication display unit display the remaining time.

Systems and methods for indicating a quantity
An indication device is provided which has an electrically conductive fluid driven by an MHD pump. The fluid has an indicator surface driven adjacent indices of an indicator so as to indicate a quantity. A position of the indicator surface is sensed and controlled to ensure accurate indication of the quantity. Optionally, the quantity indicated is time.

Fabric that Passes Colonnaded Light
A method for manufacturing fabric that passes colonnaded light is described herein. The method includes weaving a first yarn and a second yarn to create a woven fabric and weaving a light emitting yarn through the woven fabric, wherein the light emitting yarn creates a plurality of loops of light emitting yarn on at least one side of the woven fabric. The method also includes finishing the woven fabric to create columns of light emitting yarn throughout the fabric by removing the plurality of loops.
Driving device, electronic timepiece, driving method, and storage medium
An electronic timepiece includes a display, a driver that drives the display, and a CPU that controls the driver. The CPU inverts, in a time less than or equal to a reference inversion time and at an inversion timing of a constant polarity inversion cycle, a polarity of a voltage to be applied to the display. Additionally, the CPU outputs image data to the driver at an image update timing of a cycle that is synchronized with the inversion cycle and that is equivalent to a reference cycle equal to the inversion cycle multiplied by an inverse of an integer. The image update timing is a time when a reference adjustment time elapses after a timing of the reference cycle. The reference adjustment time is less than a time of the reference cycle and greater than or equal to the reference inversion time.
