Timepiece

In a plan view in an axial direction of an indicating hand axle of a small second hand, three arrangement relationships described below are satisfied between a 10 o'clock side information display unit and an hour hand. According to a first arrangement relationship, respective numbers of a scale are disposed line-symmetrically with respect to a virtual straight line connecting a scale and the indicating hand axle to each other. According to a second arrangement relationship, the indicating hand axle is located at a position which does not overlap an indicating hand axle of the hour hand. According to a third arrangement relationship, a portion of a rotatable range of the hour hand overlaps a rotatable range of the small second hand, and does not overlap the scale.

DYNAMIC USER INTERFACE WITH TIME INDICATOR

The present disclosure generally relates to a dynamic user interface having an indication of time. The dynamic user interface having the indication of time further includes one or more geometric regions that intersect the indication of time, such that colors of the indication of time are different on opposite sides of a boundary of the one or more geometric regions that intersect the indication of time. The one or more geometric regions may shift and/or change over time, thereby providing a custom and/or unique dynamic user interface having the indication of time.

Reduced Power Electrical Illumination For A Timepiece
20220179366 · 2022-06-09 ·

A method for providing illumination to a timepiece includes providing an array of LEDs arranged around a periphery of a substantially planar surface such that each LED in the array of LEDs emits light toward a center of the periphery. The substantially planar surface overlays a timepiece movement having a watch hand pinion that extends through a hole in the substantially planar surface. The substantially planar surface is bounded by a casing of the timepiece. The method also includes situating each of the LEDs in a diffuser layer extending across the substantially planar surface to scatter light emitted by each LED. The method also includes applying power to the array of LEDs such that each LED is driven at a current lower than a specified current for normal operation of the LED.

There is provided an information processing apparatus, control method, and program that allow for recognition of a state of an arm on the basis of determination of whether the information processing apparatus is worn on the left arm or the right arm, the information processing apparatus including: a determination unit configured to determine whether the information processing apparatus is worn on a user's right arm or left arm; a recognition unit configured to recognize a state of the arm; and a control unit configured to perform predetermined control on a device included in the information processing apparatus according to the recognized state of the arm. The recognition unit switches settings of a parameter which is used in the recognition of the state of the arm, according to a result of the determination by the determination unit.

Automatic time zone detection in devices

Methods, systems, apparatuses, and computer program products are provided for enabling devices to determine the time zone in which they are located. A mobile device may receive location information from one or more sources. Based thereon, the current location of the mobile device may be determined in terms of latitude and longitude. The indication of the current location may be converted to an index value according to a Hilbert curve (or other space-filling curve), and the index value applied to a time zone index file to determine the local time zone. A time zone setting of the mobile device may be updated accordingly. Furthermore, “geofencing” may be used by the mobile device to detect movement towards and through a time zone boundary, leading to a new time zone determination being initiated.
