Indicating critical battery status in mobile devices
An integrated circuit such as a SoC may indicate the critical battery status without powering-on a substantial portion including the host processing cores. The SoC may include a microcontroller, which may cause the critical battery status data to be stored in a static memory and the display unit may retrieve such data from the static memory to display a visual symbol on the screen. The other portions of the SoC such as the dynamic memory, system agent, media processors, and memory controller hubs may be powered-down while the critical battery status is displayed in the visual form on the screen.
Controlling supply of power to computing devices with dynamically variable energy capacity
Methods and apparatus relating to controlling the supply of power to computing devices with dynamically variable energy capacity are described. In one embodiment, logic causes modification to supply of power from a power source to one or more loads in response to a comparison of an output of the power source and a threshold value. The output of the power source may vary over a time period (e.g., oscillating) that causes the one or more loads to become inoperational. Other embodiments are also disclosed and claimed.
Image forming apparatus using account information managed by mobile terminal apparatus adapted to multiuser mode for performing authentication printing, system, image forming method, and storage medium
In a case where a plurality of users share the use of one mobile terminal, an image forming apparatus has performed authentication printing also on image data to which the previous owner of the mobile terminal has sent a printing instruction. According to the present embodiment, an image forming apparatus includes a data reception unit configured to receive data having a device ID of a mobile terminal and user information for identifying a user of the mobile terminal, and includes an authentication information reception unit configured to receive authentication information including the device ID and the user information from the mobile terminal. The image forming apparatus also includes a print control unit configured to control, in response to the reception of the authentication information, a printer to print the data received by the data reception unit.

Fast drawing of unrotated delta row encoded images
A method includes: receiving, at a computing device, image data encoded by delta row encoding, the image data indicating two dimensionally arranged plurality of pixels, the image data including delta data indicating difference between N-th row line and (N−1)th row line in the two dimensionally arranged plurality of pixels; pre-decoding the image data for the N-th row line using the delta data if the delta data has a size equal to or larger than a threshold while keeping the image data for the N-th row line using the delta data if the delta data has a size smaller than the threshold so as to generate intermediate codes using the computing device; and decoding and rendering the kept undecoded lines in the generated intermediate codes while rendering the decoded lines in the generated intermediate codes using the computing device.
System and method for electrical boot-device-reset signals
Systems and methods for providing accelerated loading of operating system and application programs upon system boot or application launch are disclosed. In one aspect, a method for providing accelerated loading of an operating system comprises the steps of: maintaining a list of boot data used for booting a computer system; preloading the boot data upon initialization of the computer system; and servicing requests for boot data from the computer system using the preloaded boot data. In another aspect, a method for providing accelerated launching of an application program comprises the steps of: maintaining a list of application data associated with an application program; preloading the application data upon launching the application program; and servicing requests for application data from a computer system using the preloaded application data.
