Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for receiving a request from a client to process a computational graph; obtaining data representing the computational graph, the computational graph comprising a plurality of nodes and directed edges, wherein each node represents a respective operation, wherein each directed edge connects a respective first node to a respective second node that represents an operation that receives, as input, an output of an operation represented by the respective first node; identifying a plurality of available devices for performing the requested operation; partitioning the computational graph into a plurality of subgraphs, each subgraph comprising one or more nodes in the computational graph; and assigning, for each subgraph, the operations represented by the one or more nodes in the subgraph to a respective available device in the plurality of available devices for operation.

Vehicle control system

A tractor control system, which controls an operating condition of an implement attached to the tractor. The control system includes a sensing means providing a force signal which indicates the pull force necessary to pull an implement in a desired position; a control which receives the force signal; and means for measuring at least one parameter associated with the tractor mode and/or the implement mode and the implement position is adjusted to a new position when the force signal varies. The control system includes pre-determined values associated with certain tractor and/or implement modes. A measured parameter is compared with a pre-determined parameter value and if the measured parameter would result in an undesired movement of the implement, the force signal is deactivated, or the response to the force signal is deactivated to prevent undesired movement of the attachment.

A boom sprayer includes any number of components to treat plants as the boom sprayer travels through a plant field. The components take actions to treat plants or facilitate treating plants. The boom sprayer includes any number of sensors to measure the state of the boom sprayer as the boom sprayer treats plants. The boom sprayer includes a control system to generate actions for the components to treat plants in the field. The control system includes an agent executing a model that functions to improve the performance of the boom sprayer treating plants. Performance improvement can be measured by the sensors of the boom sprayer. The model is an artificial neural network that receives measurements as inputs and generates actions that improve performance as outputs. The artificial neural network is trained using actor-critic reinforcement learning techniques.

Evaluating commodity conditions using aerial image data

Various tools, strategies and techniques are provided for evaluating the condition of one or more commodities in one or more regions of interest. Collection of image data associated with the commodities can be facilitated through use of an aircraft traveling a predetermined travel route over the regions of interest. The collected image data may be analyzed to evaluate the condition of the commodities, forecast commodity production, and/or to perform other tasks.

Methods for monitoring fluid flow and transport in shale gas reservoirs

Methods for analyzing a reservoir in a formation containing hydrocarbon fluid are described. Information characterizing the formation is collected and applied to a formation simulator that is provided with a modified Darcy's law equation that accounts for at least one of gas adsorption/desorption, various modes of diffusive transport, and non-Darcy flow behavior, and the simulator is used to generate indications of the state of the reservoir and/or the state of production of hydrocarbon fluid from the reservoir. The modified Darcy's law equations are particularly useful in analyzing any type of formation containing any type of hydrocarbon fluid including shale formations containing hydrocarbon gases. According to one embodiment, a dual-porosity shape factor useful in a formation simulator is also provided.

An operator-side intent to actuate the parking brake is recognized and subsequently during the actuation of the parking brake a hydraulic pressure of the service brake is generated that acts on at least one rear wheel, of the motor vehicle capable of being braked by the parking brake. The hydraulic pressure sufficient to assist the parking brake and correspondingly lock the rear wheel of the motor vehicle braked by the parking brake during travel of the motor vehicle.

Scoring attributes in a deep question answering system based on syntactic or semantic guidelines

Systems and computer program products to, responsive to receiving a case by a deep question answering (deep QA) system, identify, in a corpus of information, a first variable for which a value was not specified in the case, compute an importance score for the first variable based on a concept in the corpus, wherein the concept is associated with the first variable, and upon determining that the importance score exceeds an importance threshold, determine that specifying a value for the first variable increases a confidence score of a response returned by the deep QA system beyond a confidence threshold.
