A working method for an IC card having a fingerprint recognition function, comprising: an IC card receiving and determining an instruction type from a terminal, and when determined that the received instruction is an application selection instruction, the IC card selecting an application and returning a response to the terminal; when determined that the received instruction is a processing option acquisition instruction, the IC card acquiring a user fingerprint information verification state according to the content of the instruction, and if verification is successful, returning to the terminal a processing option instruction response containing an application file locator list for which a personal identification number does not need to be verified; if verification fails, returning to the terminal a processing option instruction response containing an application file locator list for which a personal identification number must be verified; when determined that the received instruction is a record reading instruction, the IC card returning a record reading response to the terminal according to the record reading instruction, wherein the record reading response contains a method for verifying a card holder. Thus, the risk of a personal identification number being leaked is avoided, thus enhancing the security of a transaction, while also improving user experience.

Cards and devices with magnetic emulators with zoning control and advanced interiors

A payment card (e.g., credit and/or debit card) is provided with a magnetic emulator operable to act as a magnetic stripe read-head detector and a data transmitter. A multiple layer flexible PCB may be fabricated to include multiple magnetic emulators. An emulator may include a coil that includes magnetic, ferromagnetic, or ferromagnetic, material in the coil's interior. Coils may be associated with zones. As a read-head is detected to move from zone-to-zone, coils may be activated to transmit information in those zones.

Methods and systems to generate a token

This patent specification describes a barcode-reading enhancement accessory for a mobile device having a barcode-reading capability. The accessory may include an outer case and an inner carriage. A mobile device is encased in the inner carriage, and the combination of the inner carriage and the mobile device may be accommodated in the outer case. The inner carriage is configured to accommodate a mobile device of a particular size such that a mobile device of a different size may be accommodated in the outer case using a different inner carriage. The accessory may also include an optic system to fold an optical path of a field of illumination of a light source of the mobile device and/or a field of view of a camera of the mobile device.

WEARABLE DEVICE AND SYSTEM
20220058459 · 2022-02-24 ·

The present invention contemplates a method of activating a wearable device, the method comprising the step of detecting an electromagnetic field generated by a Near Field Communication (“NFC”) transmitter within a detection range of an electromagnetic field detection circuit of the wearable device. In response to detecting the electromagnetic signal, the method further contemplates emitting a trigger signal to trigger a flip-flop, wherein triggering the flip-flop causes a switching transistor to switch between at least one of an activated state and a deactivated state, and wherein causing the switching transistor to switch between at least one of the activated state and the deactivated state, switches a connection between an electronic circuit and a power supply between at least one of a on state and an off state.

IMPROVED SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PROVIDING IC CHIP CARDS
20170315857 · 2017-11-02 · ·

A method and system are disclosed for providing integrated circuit chip cards (e.g. transaction cards) pursuant to an order placed by or on behalf of a card issuer wherein a testing data file is provided in conjunction with prepersonalization data encoding for use in conjunction with subsequent testing of the accuracy of the encoded prepersonalization data. Such testing may be completed prior to personalization data encoding to facilitate the identification of prepersonalization data encoding errors, thereby further facilitating remedial action and reduction of production disruptions.

ASSEMBLY AND METHOD FOR CHANGING OPERATIONAL SETTINGS USING OPTICALLY-DETECTED INFORMATION
20220055529 · 2022-02-24 ·

An assembly includes a lighting fixture, an optical sensor (e.g., a camera), and control circuitry. The optical sensor is configured to optically detect information printed or displayed on an object located a distance away from the sensor. The information represents an operational setting for a component of the assembly. The control circuitry is configured to use the detected information to change the operational setting of the component of the assembly, wherein the component of the assembly is one or more of the optical sensor and the lighting fixture, and wherein the operational setting is one or more of an instruction to turn on or off, an aperture and/or f-stop value of the optical sensor, and a brightness of light to be generated by the lighting fixture. According to one exemplary embodiment, the assembly is a street light and the lighting fixture illuminates a field of view of the optical sensor.

Subset selection of RFID tags using light

Methods and apparatuses for selecting a subset of RFID tags are provided in some embodiments. These methods and apparatuses utilize the susceptibility to light by persistent nodes found in passive tags. Light can be used to intentionally reduce persistence times in a particular subset tags or even an individual tag. Then, persistent nodes can be used as a selection criterion to distinguish previously illuminated tags from non-illuminated tags. In other embodiments, a power circuit receives a RF input source and generates a direct current (DC) output voltage. The circuit includes a bias circuit to supply a gate to source bias, which is independent of the DC output voltage. The circuit further includes a voltage multiplier circuit that is coupled to the bias circuit. The voltage multiplier circuit has MOS transistors with one transistor to receive the gate to source bias.
