Adaptive notification system based on contextual information
Adaptive systems and methods for managing and delivering notifications to workers in a work environment are provided. The adaptive notification system receives and assesses contextual information to adjust notification configurations or to propose options or alternatives of adjustments to guide a user to adjust the notification configurations.
Add-on unit for a handheld container for storing objects
An add-on unit for a handheld container, preferably a medication container, for storing medication objects, e.g. pills, to be dispensed, includes an open channel with dimensions enabling a free passage of an object to leave the container under influence of a gravity force without using a dispensing mechanism. Shaking the medication container while it is held in a slanting upside down position causes that objects are moved to the channel and will fall through the channel to leave the container. A detector detects the object which passes the channel. Electronic circuitry derives and stores information related to one or more detected passages of objects. The add-on unit is provided with an interface for communication with the outside world for outputting the information derived. Preferably the add-on unit has the form of an insert unit which fits in the neck of a standard container.
Real-time incident control and site management
Embodiments of a system are disclosed for real-time incident control and site management, which enables update-to-date monitoring of every location of a multi-unit site and efficient direction of operations on a site-wide basis. The system communicates with parties onsite via text messaging or similar means, analyzes the communication to determine a status for each unit of the site, and presents a graphical overview of the site with the status information, which allows a commander using the system to control the actions of the parties onsite in an efficient and effective manner. The system also coordinates with support agencies, such as law enforcement agencies, to facilitate assistance of the parties onsite.
Signalling system
A signalling system comprises a first data signal source (10, 14), a first data signal receiver (12, 16) and a cable 18 comprising two or more wire pairs ({1,2}, {3,6}, {4,5}, {7,8}) coupling the first data signal source to the first data signal receiver. A portion of each wire pair is wound around a magnetic core (28). A further winding (30) is wound around the core (28). A further signal source (24) is coupled to the further winding (30) and a further receiver (36, 26) is coupled to the wires to receive the further signal. The windings around the core apply the further signal to the wire pairs as a common-mode signal. This allows the further signal to be transmitted to the further receiver without affecting the signal transmitted between the source (10, 14) and the receiver (12, 16) and with only minor modification of the cable (18).
