SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MANAGING ELECTRONIC HEALTHCARE INFORMATION
This invention relates to systems and methods for managing electronic healthcare information on a highly scalable and customizable software and hardware architecture which emphasizes portable devices and minimal downtime during upgrades and scaling. This invention further relates to systems and methods for efficient access and customization of forms for electronically generating and managing patient information. In one aspect of the invention, an electronic health record system (EHR) of the present invention, which may also be referred to as an electronic medical record system (EMR), may be deployed and run on a plurality of servers over which the computing and/or storage load may be distributed in a non-centralized manner such that the overall system may remain up and operating even while being scaled, upgraded and/or otherwise modified.
Textured learning aid with auditory key for the visual impaired
A 3D printed assisted technology for the visually impaired may contain two separate, identical, low-cost, 3D printed models of cross-sectioned neuroanatomical structures. Both of these models may contain identical tactile, topographical sections that emphasize different systems of the brain. One model may contain pressable buttons and programmable audio components that present audio information to the future and correspond to features on the 3D model.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR PRINTING STEGANOGRAPHY TO ASSIST VISUALLY IMPAIRED
An apparatus and method for printing steganography is disclosed. The apparatus comprises a wearable unit and a controlling unit that are programmatically controlled by a processor. The controlling unit converts content to be published into a phoneme transcription for a target language, processes the content and further arranges the processed content as per a specified page layout. Further, the phoneme transcribed content is embedded into a QR code that is again extracted by a wearable unit to read the content, the content layout, and reading sequence. The wearable unit also converts the phoneme transcribed content into a voice output. Further, the wearable unit comprises motor sensors to sense a readers' body and neck movements to guide a reader to read content in a correct manner such that voice output is programmatically paused, stopped, repeated at intervals so determined.
WEARABLE AUDITORY FEEDBACK DEVICE
A wearable auditory feedback device includes a frame, a plurality of microphone arrays, a plurality of feedback motors, and a processor. The frame is wearable on a user's head or neck. The microphone arrays are embedded in the frame on a left side, a right side, and a rear side with respect to the user. The feedback motors are also embedded in the frame on the left side, the right side, and the rear side with respect to the user. The processor is configured to receive a plurality of sound waves collected with the microphone arrays from a sound wave source, determine an originating direction of the sound waves, and activate a feedback motor on a side the frame corresponding to the originating direction.
VISION-ASSIST SYSTEMS WITH ROOM SCANNERS TO DETECT AND NOTIFY USERS OF OUT-OF-ORDER ROOM STATES
Vision-assist systems that inform visually impaired users regarding the current state of a room are disclosed. In some embodiments, a system includes an image sensor for obtaining a baseline image of the room including one or more items in the room positioned in an in-order state, and memory to store the baseline image. The system may include a motion sensor to detect when the user is approaching the room to activate the image sensor to obtain a real-time image of the room. A detection module determines whether the room and items in the room are in an in-order state or an out-of-order state when compared with the baseline image, and an output module notifies the user of the current state of room. In this manner, a visually impaired user can be informed of the state of a room which thereby aids the user in navigating or moving within the room.
BLINDNESS ASSIST GLASSES
An eyewear device with camera-based compensation that improves the user experience for user's having partial blindness or complete blindness. The camera-based compensation determines objects, converts determined objects to text, and then converts the text to audio that is indicative of the objects and that is perceptible to the eyewear user. The camera-based compensation may use a region-based convolutional neural network (RCNN) to generate a feature map including text that is indicative of objects in images captured by a camera. Relevant text of the feature map is then processed through a text to speech algorithm featuring a natural language processor to generate audio indicative of the objects in the processed images.
Methods and Systems for Automatically Generating Accessibility Descriptions of Data Visualizations
A method for automatically generating an accessibility description of a data visualization object includes analyzing, by an automatic description generator executing on a computing device, an image object including at least one data visualization object. The method includes identifying at least one attribute of the image object, based on the analysis. The method includes receiving an identification of at least one data source for the at least one data visualization object. The method includes determining at least one mathematical value describing at least one characteristic of the data visualization object, based on the identified at least one attribute of the image object and the identified at least one data source. The method includes automatically generating a text-based description of the at least one characteristic, the text-based description including the at least one mathematical value. The method includes incorporating, the generated text-based description into a resource satisfying an accessibility requirement.
Computer, method and program for effectively notifying others of problems concerning accessibility in content
A computer has a display device, a speaker device and an input device, and is capable of identifying problems concerning accessibility in web content displayed on the display device to a visually impaired user of the computer. The web content includes a plurality of structured objects. The computer also has text-to-speech capability such that the web content displayed on the display device is audibly read to the user. The user provides a specification operation input when he or she is uncomfortable with the audible reading. A reporter software module executing on the computer determines which one of the structured objects is causing the discomfort.
