Switchable lighting device and use thereof
A lighting device for operation in at least two operating modes: a mode for free viewing and a mode for restricted viewing. The device includes a backlighting system, which in the restricted-viewing mode radiates light in a restricted angular range, a plate-shaped optical element situated along a viewing direction in front of the backlighting system, and illuminants laterally arranged at the optical element. The optical element is configured as a light guide consisting of a matrix plastic and, homogeneously distributed therein, scattering particles of a polymer. The light guide is transparent to at least 80% of the light emitted by the backlighting system. The light laterally incident on the optical element from the illuminants is radiated in a free viewing range; in the restricted-viewing mode, the backlighting system is switched on and the illuminants switched off; in the free-viewing mode, the illuminants are on and the backlighting system is off.
SOURCE DEVICE, CONTENT PROVIDING METHOD USING THE SOURCE DEVICE, SINK DEVICE AND CONTROLLING METHOD OF THE SINK DEVICE
A source device for transmitting content to a sink device is provided. The source device may include an interface configured to perform high-bandwidth digital content protection (HDCP) authentication with the sink device, and a controller configured to determine an HDCP version supported by the sink device, convert the content so as to be encrypted in the HDCP version supported by the sink device in response to a determination that another HDCP version applied to the content is not supported by the sink device, encrypt the converted content in the HDCP version supported by the sink device, and control the interface to transmit the content to the sink device.
Information Handling System with Dynamic Privacy Mode Display
An information handling system includes a processing device and a display. The processing device detects a privacy mode trigger, and provides a privacy mode control signal in response to detecting the privacy mode trigger. The display includes a screen to provide an image, and a backlight control module. The backlight control module controls a brightness of the image based on a display mode of the display, and provides the image in a privacy mode in response to receiving the privacy mode control signal.
MULTI-DISPLAY CONTROL APPARATUS, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS
A multi-display control apparatus includes a processor for an information handling device and a memory that stores code executable by the processor. The code is executable by the processor to detect a trigger event and, in response to detecting the trigger event, temporarily stopping display of content on a first display device in which the first display device is external to a second display device of a computing device storing the content.
CAPTCHA techniques utilizing traceable images
Techniques are disclosed for generating, utilizing, and validating traceable image CAPTCHAs. In certain embodiments, a traceable image is displayed, and a trace of the image is analyzed to determine whether a user providing the trace is human. In certain embodiments, a computing device receives a request for an image, and in response, creates a traceable image based upon a plurality of image elements. The computing device transmits data representing the traceable image to cause a second computing device to display the traceable image via a touch-enabled display. The computing device receives a user trace input data generated responsive to a trace made at the second computing device, and determines whether the trace is within an error tolerance range of the set of coordinates associated with the traceable image. The computing device then sends a result of the determination.
Mobile computing terminal with more than one lock screen and method of using the same
A method and a system for displaying information and content in a lock screen system having a plurality of screens so as to provide a screen lock for preventing an unintended input of a user terminal device, and a computer-readable recording medium. The method includes setting information and content on a plurality of lock screen, displaying the plurality of lock screens, providing a screen movement between the plurality of lock screens, executing an existing external application so as to provide detailed information for the information and content displayed on the plurality of lock screens, unlocking the plurality of lock screens, and posting an advertisement on a part of the plurality of lock screens. Users can easily confirm simple information and content and use the as a new medium and means for expressing themselves by setting the lock screen windows according to the personalities of the users.
Message Display System for Vehicles
A message display system for a vehicle. The system includes a base unit an LED display, a receiver capable of wirelessly receiving text, suction cups that enables attachment of the base unit to a rear window of a vehicle such that the display faces out the rear window. The system also includes at least one transmitter capable of wirelessly transmitting text to the receiver of the base unit, Such transmitters can include portable electronic devices such as as a dedicated remote control device, a mobile phone, a smart phone, a tablet computer. The base unit can also be configured to receive alerts from an alert system such as an Amber Alert system.
DISPLAY PANEL, DISPLAY DRIVING METHOD AND DISPLAY DEVICE
A display panel includes a base substrate and a plurality of pixel cells arranged on the base substrate, the plurality of pixel cells being arranged in arrays in a row direction and a column direction; at least part of the plurality of pixel cells include anti-view sub-pixels, each anti-view sub-pixel including a first anode, an anti-view light-emitting part and a cathode; the display panel further includes a first pixel driving circuit, a control line, a first power line and a second power line, the first pixel driving circuit being coupled to the control line, the first power line and the first anode, and the cathode being connected to the second power line; and at least part of the anti-view sub-pixels have different areas of orthographic projection of the anti-view light-emitting parts on the base substrate, so that brightness of the at least part of the anti-view sub-pixels is different.
Protecting Documents with Security Overlays
A method and system of augmenting display content in a graphical user interface environment. Content produced by a graphical user interface is augmented with additional content before the content is displayed. In an example, a security marker may be rendered on top of an existing display content using the method described to protect high-value or sensitive information.
Display device and operating method therefor
A display device including a display that includes a plurality of pixels, wherein the plurality of pixels respectively include a plurality of sub-pixels is provided. The plurality of sub-pixels include first type sub-pixels observed at a first viewing angle, and second type sub-pixels observed at a second viewing angle that is narrower than the first viewing angle.
