Electronic Devices With Display Aging Compensation
An electronic device may have a display. The display may have light-emitting diode pixels or other pixels. Due to aging-induced degradation of the pixels, the output intensity and color of the pixels may vary over the lifetime of the display. Control circuitry in the device may use an ambient light sensor to measure ambient light and stray display light. The display light measurements may be used in monitoring aging effects so that the control circuitry can compensate for aging-induced pixel degradation. Display light measurements may be made over a sequence of image frames. The image frames in the sequence of frames may include white and black frames or frames of different colors interleaved with black frames. Different frame intensities may be used during measurements of stray display light to gather gamma curves for the display.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR SCREEN BRIGHTNESS CONTROL AND AUTO-LOCK BASED ON EYE DETECTION
A computer system is provided. The computer system includes a memory and at least one processor coupled to the memory and configured to detect open eyes in an image received from a camera of the computer; recognize properties of the open eyes including orientation, designation as a left or right eye, and relative position of the eyes; group the detected open eyes into pairs of eyes based on the recognized properties; measure pupillary distance (e.g. represented in image pixels) of each of the pairs of eyes; identify the pair of eyes associated with the largest pupillary distance as the eyes closest to the camera; calculate a relative distance from the camera to the closest pair of eyes, the relative distance calculated as a ratio of the camera focal length to the largest pupillary distance; and reduce brightness of the computer screen if the relative distance is less than a threshold ratio.
Method and system of secure mediator for advanced displays
Mediating between host and display where a mediator enforces security policy over bidirectional protocols of a Display Data Channel (DDC) of video communication protocols between host and display, where AD-EDID display emulators are coupled to DDCs of the host's video port, AD-EDID host emulators are coupled to DDCs of display's video port and security enforcing communication units couple between pairs of AD-EDID display emulator and AD-EDID host emulator, where AD-EDID display emulators emulate display operation and behavior over the DDC, AD-EDID host emulators emulate host operation and behavior over the DDC and security enforcing communication units enforce security policy such as unidirectional communication between the pairs of AD-EDID host emulators and AD-EDID display emulators.
CONTEXT AWARE SENSITIVE DATA DISPLAY
Methods, computer program products, and systems are presented. The method computer program products, and systems can include, for instance: presenting first data on a first area of a display, wherein the first data is non-sensitive data; presenting second data on a second area of the display, wherein the second data is sensitive data; wherein the first data is displayed to feature a first viewing angle, and wherein the second data is displayed to feature a second viewing angle, wherein the second viewing angle is narrower than the first viewing angle so that a range of viewing angles from the display at which displayed data is visible is larger for the first data than for the second data.
COMMUNICATION TERMINAL, COMMUNICATION SYSTEM, AND METHOD OF SHARING DATA
A communication terminal comprising circuitry to: receive selection of screen data, from among one or more items of screen data, as sharing target data to be shared with other communication terminal, each screen data to be used for generating a display screen and having been generated at the communication terminal; and share the sharing target data with the other communication terminal.
Backlight control device and method
A backlight control device and method are provided. The backlight control device includes an event detection circuit and a backlight controller. The event detection circuit receives an image frame. The event detection circuit determines whether there is a user face in the image frame to generate a first determining result. The backlight controller is coupled to the event detection circuit to receive the determining result. When the first determining result indicates that there is no user face in the image frame, the backlight controller dims the backlight of a display panel.
Technologies for presenting public and private images
Technologies for displaying public and private images includes a display device and one or more user viewing devices. The display device is configured to display or generate a personalized image or video that is viewable by an authorized user viewing device and not viewable by unauthorized viewing devices. To facilitate the display of the personalized images, the display device and the user viewing device(s) may negotiate a display protocol to be used by the display device to display the personalized image in a private manner. In some embodiment, the display device may also display a public image or video that is viewable by unauthorized viewing devices and/or individuals without viewing devices.
System and Method for Providing Digital Content
A method of electronically displaying glyphs. The method includes receiving a glyph spacing, moving a first glyph toward a second glyph along an axis, identifying an intersection of a first axis coordinate of the first glyph with a second axis coordinate of the second glyph, and moving at least one of the glyphs along the axis to separate the first and second axis coordinates of the respective first and second glyphs by the glyph spacing.
Method for controlling screen output and electronic device supporting same
Disclosed is an electronic device comprising: a housing; a display disposed on one surface of the housing; a cover comprising a first area on which a plurality of input objects are disposed and a second area on which a transparent panel is disposed, wherein the cover is disposed such that at least a portion of the display can be openably and closably covered, and is configured to provide at least a first arrangement state or a second arrangement state; and a processor which is electrically connected to the display, and is set to output a first screen associated with a first security function on an area of the display corresponding to the second area in the first arrangement state, and to output a second screen associated with a second security function on at least a portion of the display in the second arrangement state. Other various embodiments identified in the specification are also possible. Besides, it may be permissible to prepare other various embodiments speculated through the specification.
White or off-white hidden display apparatus, system, and method
A hidden display apparatus, system, and method. A display apparatus embodiment may include a face layer and a projection layer, with the projection layer positioned behind the face layer. The face layer may include a front side and a back side. The front side may include a first area configured to display high resolution images and a second area positioned around the first area. The first area and the second area may be made of the same material, and have similar color(s) and/or patterns. The projection layer may include a light source operative in an active mode and an inactive mode. When in the active mode, the projection layer may project light to the face layer to display images in the first area. When in the inactive mode, the face layer may be visually obscured so that the first area and the second area together display a colored surface.
