DRUMSTICK GRIPPING DEVICE
20170221462 · 2017-08-03 ·

A drumstick gripping device is provided for a drumstick comprising tip, shoulder and grip portions. The drumstick gripping device includes a collar defining a collar opening for the insertion and engagement of a drumstick. The diameter of the collar opening is larger than the diameter of the drumstick tip and shoulder portions and smaller than the diameter of at least a portion of a drumstick grip portion. The collar can be engaged to a portion of the drumstick grip portion. A looped finger grip defines a finger grip opening for the insertion of a finger. The finger grip is connected to the collar wherein the finger grip opening is offset from and transverse to the collar opening. A drumstick system and a method of drumming are also disclosed.

ADJUSTABLE LINKAGE FOR DUAL DRUM PEDAL
20170221460 · 2017-08-03 ·

An apparatus for connecting drum pedals for a musical drum set is provided. The apparatus may include an outer tube having a proximal end and a distal end, the proximal end of the outer rod having a polygon-shaped channel extending therethrough, the distal end of the outer tube being coupled with a first drum pedal; an inner rod having a polygonal cross-section, a proximal end and a distal end, the proximal end of the inner rod being slidably received through the polygon-shaped channel at the proximal end of the outer tube, the distal end of the inner rod being coupled with a first drum beater; and a quick-release mechanism coupled to the proximal end of the outer tube configured to releasably engage the outer tube with the inner rod.

Pedal device for electronic percussion instrument
09721547 · 2017-08-01 · ·

A pedal device for an electronic percussion instrument is provided, wherein first and second detection means for detecting a rotation of a pedal by different methods are alternatively disposed in a base. The pedal has a pressing part on a lower surface side. The base includes a first portion located under the pressing part for supporting the first detection means, and a second portion located around the first portion for supporting the second detection means. The first portion supports the first detection means such that a first pressed part of the first detection means is disposed on a displacement trajectory of the pressing part that displaces with the rotation of the pedal, and the second portion disposes the second detection means such that a second pressed part of the second detection means is disposed on the displacement trajectory of the pressing part.

PEDAL APPARATUS FOR PERCUSSION INSTRUMENT

Pivot shaft support members, formed as component parts separate from support posts of a frame of a pedal apparatus, are mounted on respective upper ends of the support posts, and the pivot shaft support members pivotably support the opposite ends of a pivot shaft for a beater rod. A heel section is provided on a rear end portion of an under plate of the pedal apparatus, and a pair of left and right hinge support members, formed as component parts separate from the heel section, are mounted to the heel section. The hinge support members pivotably support the opposite ends of a pivot shaft of a hinge section of a foot board. Because the pivot shaft support members and the hinge support members are separate component parts from the frame, mounted positions of these support members can be adjusted finely during mounting, to the frame, of the support members.

Electronic music controller using inertial navigation-2
09773480 · 2017-09-26 ·

A percussion controller comprises an instrumented striker including devices for obtaining inertial measurements and a wireless transmitter, a sensor-enabled striking surface that receives an impact from the instrumented striker, and a data processing system that receives the inertial measurements and predicts at least one of the force or location of impact of the instrumented striker on the sensor-enabled striking surface before impact actually occurs.

Augmented reality system

An augmented reality system is provided, including a physical apparatus operable to change detectably by a human between a first state and a second state, and an augmented reality application. The physical apparatus includes a signal receiver for receiving a signal, and at least one controllable element operable to effect the change between the first state and the second state upon receiving the signal. The AR application, when executed by at least one processor of a computing device, the computing device having at least one camera and a display, cause the computing device to capture at least one image of the physical apparatus, generate a virtual reality object that is presented in the at least one image on the display, and transmit the signal to the physical apparatus to cause the at least one controllable element of the physical apparatus to switch between the first state and the second state.

PORTABLE DRUM KIT
20220013096 · 2022-01-13 ·

A portable drum kit is disclosed. The disclosed drum kit comprising a base; musical instruments comprising one or more drums and at least one cymbal to be fitted on the base; one or more vertical columns fixed to the base to support at least one of the musical instruments at; one or more rod members detachably coupled to the one or more musical instruments; and at least one pair of modular clamps adapted to enable fitment of the least one of the one or more drums and the at least one cymbal to the vertical columns. The modular clamps allow movement of the musical instruments between an collapsed position in which the drums and the cymbal are placed closer to each other, and a deployed position in which the drums and the cymbal are placed at desired positions to allow a percussionist to use the drum kit.

Suspension system for a drum
11640814 · 2023-05-02 · ·

A suspension system for a drum includes upper and lower suspension structures defining a pair of mounting holes including an upper and a lower mounting hole. A vibration isolation member is received in each mounting hole of the pair. When the suspension system is mounted to the drum via the pair of mounting holes and an associated vibration isolation members receives an associated tensioning rod at a support location, one of the vibration isolation members engages a downwardly facing surface of the upper drum hoop and the other vibration isolation member engages a downwardly facing surface of a lower lug to support weight of the drum upwardly. The suspension system prevents a moment force on the drum when the drum is oriented in a horizontal or angled position due to the support locations being oriented to be balanced with respect to a center of gravity of the drum.
