Flexible plate fixation of bone fractures
Embodiments provide methods, apparatuses, and systems for fixation of a fractured bone. In various embodiments, the systems and plates may provide elastic suspension of the receiving holes relative to the osteosynthesis plate. This elastic suspension may promote load distribution between the screws that connect a bone segment to the plate, thereby reducing stress risers and load shielding effect. In addition, stress at the screw holes, and within the construct as a whole, is reduced by incorporation of these elastic elements in the plate. Additionally, in some embodiments, for instance if fracture healing by callus formation is desired, elastic suspension of the receiving holes relative to the osteosynthesis plate may enable small, controlled amounts of relative motion between bone fragments connected by the plate, which may promote fracture healing by callus formation.

MOTION-COMPENSATED LASER SPECKLE CONTRAST IMAGING
Methods and systems for motion-corrected and motion-compensated laser speckle contrast imaging are disclosed which comprise exposing a target area to coherent first light of a first wavelength, the target area including living tissue, and capturing at least one sequence of images comprising first speckle images and determining one or more transformation parameters of an image registration algorithm for registering the first speckle images with each other. The transformation parameters may be based on a similarity measure of pixel values of groups of pixels in a plurality of images of the at least one sequence of images the images in the plurality of images being selected from the first speckle images or being associated with the first speckle images.

The tibial cutting block includes features, for example, pin-receiving slot and holes, that permit fixing of the varus-valgus and flexion-extension degrees of freedom prior to fixing the internal-external and medial-lateral degrees of freedom.
