A cable and methods of making cables are disclosed. In at least one embodiment, a method for making a cable includes introducing a conductive material onto a sheet including a heat-shrink material. The method includes compressing a first portion of the sheet onto a second portion of the sheet to form a sheath having an interior volume, where the conductive material is disposed in the interior volume. In at least one embodiment, a cable includes a sheath including a heat-shrink material. The cable includes an interior volume including a conductive material including a conductive carbon material.

A differential signal transmission cable includes an insulation layer extending in a longitudinal direction of the differential signal transmission cable, a pair of signal lines extending in the longitudinal direction and buried inside the insulation layer, an intermediate layer covering an outer circumferential surface of the insulation layer, a shield, and catalyst particles. The shield includes an electroless plating layer covering an outer circumferential surface of the intermediate layer. The catalyst particles are dispersed between the intermediate layer and the electroless plating layer.

The redundant network system includes a cable assembly having a node connector coupled to the node port, a primary connector coupled to the primary switch port, and a secondary connector coupled to the secondary switch port. The cable assembly includes a signal splitting circuit between the node connector and the primary and secondary connectors. The cable assembly includes a first cable between the signal splitting circuit and the primary connector and a second cable between the signal splitting circuit and the secondary connector.

COMMUNICATION CABLE

It is aimed to provide a communication cable which includes a solid sheath on an outer periphery of a signal cable having a plurality of insulated wires and in which transmission characteristics hardly decrease due to a pressure in extrusion-molding a sheath. A communication cable 1 is provided with a signal cable 10 including a plurality of insulated wires 11 each having a conductor 12 and an insulation coating 13 covering an outer periphery of the conductor 12, and a solid sheath 20 covering an outer periphery of the signal cable 10. A melt flow rate of a constituent material of the sheath 20 measured at 200° and with a load of 2.16 kg is 0.25 g/10 min. or more.

The first and second contacts are surrounded at least in sections respectively by electrically insulating first and second carrier bodies having first and second dielectric constants ε.sub.R1, ε.sub.R2. Outer circumferential surfaces of the carrier bodies bear against an inner wall surface of the plug shield at least in sections.

The electrically insulative foam can coat at least one electrical conductor of the electrical cable. The electrically insulative foam can coat the optical fiber of the waveguide. The electrically insulative foam can also define a waveguide.
