Ribbed high density electrical cable

An electrical ribbon cable (110) includes an insulated conductor (114) extending along a longitudinal axis of the cable. The cable also includes a shielding film (116) that carries the insulated conductor (114). The shielding film (116) has a variable thickness defining a thickened rib portion (117) and a thinned connecting portion (118), these portions being electrically conductive and extending along the longitudinal axis. The insulated conductor (114) is disposed proximate the rib portion (117). The insulated conductor (114) may be one of multiple insulated conductors that are organized into multiple conductor sets (112) including at least a first and second conductor set, each conductor set (112) including one or more of the insulated conductors (114), and the rib portion (117) may be disposed between the first and second conductor sets.

A cable, such as a USB cable, having at least two pairs of strands, each of which is designed to transmit a differential data signal; in the longitudinal direction (L) of the cable, the at least two pairs of strands extend helically about a common braiding center.

DATA COMMUNICATION CABLE AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING SUCH CABLE

The present invention generally relates to a data communication cable (100) comprising: a set of elongated bodies (102) each formed from an elastic material and having an unextended free length; and for each elongated body (102), a set of conductive wires (104) disposed along the elongated body (102), such that each conductive wire (104) is extendable to more than the free length of the elongated body (102), wherein at least one conductive wire (104) is configured for communicating data between electronic devices; and wherein the conductive wires (104) are extendable in response to extension of the elongated body (102), such that the extended data communication cable (100) remains useable for said data communication between the electronic devices.

DATA CABLE, DATA TRANSMISSION METHOD, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING A DATA CABLE

A data cable, which is particularly suitable for the automotive industry, is cost-effective to produce and allows high transmission frequencies into the gigahertz range. The data cable has two wire pairs which each have two wires which are surrounded by a pair shield. In addition to the pair shield, a planar or flat shielding element which does not surround the core pairs and makes contact with the two pair shields is arranged between the wires. The shielding element has, in particular, individual wires which run next to one another. Contact can advantageously be made with the pair shield in a plug region in a simple manner by way of the shielding element.

Active cable

An active cable that is capable of reducing crosstalk is provided. A ground pattern is formed so as to sandwich one or both of a part of a transmission side transmission channel located at a side closer to the other side than a compensation circuit and a part of a reception side transmission channel located at a side closer to the other side than the compensation circuit.

DATA CABLE AND STRANDED CONDUCTOR

A data cable has a specially formed stranded conductor, as a result of which the transmission properties of the data cable are significantly improved. The stranded conductor is surrounded by insulation and has an unpressed assembly composed of a plurality of individual wires which are of a same type and being embodied as external wires and being disposed around a center. The external wires are embodied with a non-round cross section, with a result that when viewed in cross section an extent of the external wires increases radially outward from the center.

A shielded cable includes signal wires each having a signal conductor covered by an insulator, and a shield conductor comprising a metal foil resin tape spirally and overlappingly wrapped around the two signal wires, wherein an edge portion of the metal foil resin tape is folded back so that the metal foil therein is oriented outward, thereby bringing metal foils, which are arranged on lower and upper sides in the overlapping part of wrapping of the metal foil resin tape, into electrical contact with each other. The shielded cable includes two drain wires provided outside the metal foil resin tape and configured to be in electrical contact with an exposed part of the outwardly folded-back metal foil, which is exposed out of the overlapping part.
