Safety Power Connector

A safety power connector includes a male section that has contacts for carrying electric current, one or more magnets, and a protrusion. A female section has a receptacle for receiving the protrusion and contacts that mate with contacts of the male section. When the male section is absent, no hot electrical potential is present at the contacts of the female section, thereby reducing potential for an electric shock. When the male section aligns with the female section and the protrusion inserted into the centrally located receptacle of the female section causes closure of a switch in the female section and a magnetic field from the one or more magnets of the male section cause closure of a magnetically actuated switch caused, providing electrical potential to the contacts of the female section that are now in contact with the contacts of the male section.

To realize both toughness and size reduction of a safety switch. A safety switch is a safety switch into and from which a bolt of an actuator is inserted and pulled out. The safety switch includes a casing having a shape elongated along a first direction, a metal head having a receiving space for receiving the bolt of the actuator and provided on a first end side of the casing in the first direction, a detector for detecting a first state in which the bolt is received in the receiving space, a lock mechanism, a switching device and a first attachment portion provided in the head and having a first attachment hole into which a first attachment member is inserted.

The close contact between a surface to be attracted and an attracting surface when an openable and closable door is closed is established at a high level to form a state in which the surface to be attracted and the attracting surface overlap each other without a gap. An electromagnetic lock type safety switch includes an actuator including; a member to be magnetized on which a surface to be attracted corresponding to an attracting surface, formed on an electromagnet of a switch body, is formed; an actuator attachment portion for attaching the actuator to a movable portion (openable and closable door); and a movement mechanism supporting the member to be magnetized to be movable relative to the actuator attachment portion.

Safety device

A safety device with a safety switch and an actuator that is arranged movably relative to said safety switch. A transponder is arranged in the actuator, and a reading unit is arranged in the safety switch. A locking position of the actuator is controlled by the fact that transponder signals of the transponder are detected in the reading unit. The safety switch has a locking element with an influencing element. The actuator has a sensor coupled with the transponder. In the locking position of the actuator the locking element is insertable into a receptacle of the actuator. This effects the locking of the actuator. This locking is controlled in that the influencing element is only within the range of influence of the sensor when the locking element is inserted into the receptacle. Said sensor generates a sensor signal via which the transponder signals sent by the transponder are modified.

Outlet ground prong power switch and adapter

A ground prong power switch for an electrical receptacle having an open switch position in which current is prevented from flowing to a receptacle outlet and a closed switch position in which current can flow to the outlet, which switch is activated by the insertion or removal of a ground prong of a plug into pin receiving slot of the outlet. A phase conductor is connected directly to a first switch mechanism, and a separate conductor is connected between the switch mechanism and the hot terminal of the receptacle. In a first open switch position a pair of contacts is electrically disconnected and in a second closed switch position the contacts are touching and an electrical current is reinstated to the hot terminal of the receptacle. A tab portion extends into the distal end of the ground prong receiving slot such that upon a ground prong being inserted into the ground prong receiving slot, the tab is contacted and is depressed outwardly causing the switch mechanism to move to the second closed switch position. The tab portion is tapered towards its end, so that items other than a ground prong inserted in the slot will likely deflect to the side of the tab and not activate the switch and close the circuit. Also provided is an electrical adapter plug device configured to enable a two-pronged power cord plug to be used with and energize the safety outlet or receptacle device including a female socket portion configured for receiving the two-prong plug and a three-prong plug portion including an activator pin configured to be received in a grounding pin slot of a socket and further including a mechanism for preventing the two-prong plug from being easily disengaged from the adapter.

CONNECTOR

A connector includes a male, key-like member that is operably received in a female connector body. The key-like member includes a stem for operative association with a cord or other body and a distal element. The female connector has a body defining a proximal portion for operative association with a cord or other body and a slot extending along a surface of the body to an aperture for receiving a distal element of a first connector element. A first inside channel extends from the slot at a distal end of the connector to a depth from the surface of the slot. A second inside channel extends from the aperture to the first channel. One of the first and second connectors is provided with a sensor. The sensor indicates that the first connector element is located at the distal portion of the inside channel.
