System and method for improved intra-oral scanning protocol and calibration
A method of providing an accurate three-dimensional scan of a dental arch area is disclosed. The arch area has two segments and a connecting area between the two segments. The connecting area has homogeneous features. A connecting-geometry tool with at least one definable feature is affixed to the arch area. The definable feature overlays at least part of the connecting area. The arch area is scanned to produce a scanned dataset of the arch area. The definable feature of the connecting-geometry tool on the connection area is determined based on the scanned dataset. The dimensions of the arch area are determined based on the data relating to the definable features from the scanned dataset.
Apparatus for measuring implant osseointegration
Provided is an apparatus for measuring implant osseointegration, and the apparatus for measuring implant osseointegration includes: a vibration generation unit configured to apply multiple vibrations with frequencies in different bands, respectively, to an implant fixture; a vibration sensor configured to measure three-axis vibration information of the implant fixture caused by the vibrations from the vibration generation unit; and a control unit configured to determine the degree of osseointegration based on the measured vibration information.
Method for constructing at least one dental prosthetic part or a bracket having at least one adhesive surface
The invention relates to a method for constructing at least one dental prosthetic part or a bracket, with at least one adhesive surface, in which a 3D model is made of the dental prosthetic part. Recesses are constructed on the adhesive surface of the 3D model.
Implantable medical devices comprising bio-degradable alloys with enhanced degradation rates
The invention provides medical devices comprising high-strength alloys which degrade over time in the body of a human or animal, at controlled degradation rates, without generating emboli and which have enhanced degradation due to the presence of a halogen component. In one embodiment the alloy is formed into a bone fixation device such as an anchor, screw, plate, support or rod. In another embodiment the alloy is formed into a tissue fastening device such as staple. In yet another embodiment, the alloy is formed into a dental implant or a stent.
Implant for covering bone defects in the jaw region and method for producing the same
The invention relates to an implant for covering bone defects in the jaw region, which comprises a magnesium film.
DENTAL ANCHORING SYSTEM FOR ANCHORING A CARRIER ELEMENT TO AN ANCHORING ELEMENT
A dental anchoring system configured to anchor a carrier element at an anchoring element, the dental anchoring system including the carrier element; the anchoring element; and a fastening bolt, wherein the anchoring element includes a receiving section configured to receive the carrier element and a threaded bore, wherein the carrier element is configured to directly or indirectly attach a dental superstructure element or a dental prosthesis and wherein the carrier element includes a support section configured to be supported at the receiving section of the anchoring element, wherein the carrier element is attachable at the anchoring element by a first anchoring type using the fastening bolt by receiving the support section of the carrier element at the receiving section of the anchoring element and threading the fastening bolt into the threaded bore of the anchoring element.
Orthodontic skeletal anchorage device
The invention proposes an orthodontic anchorage device, which may be used in combination with others, comprising a plate with two, three or four pointed end stems distributed on one of its surfaces and at least two holes at the ends adapted for the insertion of micro screws. These stems are intended to slightly rest on the bone through the palatine mucosa, preventing the entire appliance from digging into the palate.
IMPLANTATION KIT ENABLING IMPLANT HOLE PREPARATION ON BONE IN ONLY ONE DRILLING WITH ONE SINGLE OSTEOTOME
An implantation kit including a rotational osteotome and an implant is disclosed. The rotational osteotome includes a plurality of steps of different diametrical sizes, a tip, and at least one flute; and every step includes an annular bottom bevel to provide a cutting edge and recessed section. The implant includes a body having a cylindrical head section and a conical section provided with an external thread and a plurality of spiral flutes. The conical section has a downward tapered profile correspondingly aligned with the recessed sections. The cylindrical head section has a straight cylindrical profile matching that of the step having the largest diametrical size. With the above arrangements, an implant hole on a bone can be formed in only one drilling with one single osteotome for fixedly holding the implant therein. Therefore, the time needed for dental and orthopedic surgeries is largely shortened while better osseointegration can be achieved.
Methods for chair-side or other manufacture of customizable sculptable anatomical healing caps
Methods for manufacturing anatomical healing caps, including forming an anatomical healing cuff body for a given tooth position, the anatomical healing cuff body having a cross-section and an exterior surface so that the anatomical healing cuff body provides substantially custom filling of at least an emergence portion of a void where a natural tooth once emerged from the void or where a tooth would have emerged from a void of the given tooth position, and forming both lateral buccal and lingual handle extensions extending from the anatomical healing cuff body so that the manufactured anatomical healing cap includes a laterally extending buccal handle extension and an oppositely disposed laterally extending lingual handle extension, the buccal and lingual handle extensions being integrally formed with the healing cuff body. The healing caps can be formed using a casting jig, by machining, by 3D printing, or other suitable methods.
DENTAL TOOLS AND METHODS OF USE
Dental tools and methods for at least one of seating, insertion and removal of one or more components of dental attachment assemblies are described herein. The dental tools comprise an elongate member, an expandable grabber positioned around at least a portion of the elongate member, and an adjustment mechanism. The elongate member comprises an expander, which can have different widths or diameters along its length such that an adjustment of a position of the expandable grabber relative to the elongate member via the adjustment mechanism adjusts a width or diameter of at least a portion, preferably an end portion, of the expandable grabber.
