Ground fault circuit interrupter having reversed wiring protection function
A ground fault circuit interrupter with a reversed wiring protection function is provided. The ground fault circuit interrupter may include a main circuit switch, a middle layer bracket, a reset button, a trip coil, an electromagnetic trip mechanism, a lifting piece, a locking piece, and an elastic reset mechanism. Sides of the lifting piece may be sleeved upon live line and neutral line metal rods, respectively. Reset springs may be sleeved upon the metal rods. In a correct wiring state, an upper end of the live line metal rod may be in conductive contact with a live line movable metal sheet of the main circuit switch, and an upper end of the neutral line metal rod may be in conductive contact with a neutral line movable metal sheet of the main circuit switch, the movable metal sheets extending from the power load end.
Electromagnetic contactor
An electromagnetic contactor with connecting spring including: a movable core contact plate section that is inserted into a through hole formed in a movable core and comes into contact with a contact support side of the through hole; and a pair of curved plate sections each joined to either end of the movable core contact plate section and housed in connecting spring tip housing sections formed in the contact support, the sides of which opposite to a contact surface of the movable core contact plate section come into contact with the connecting spring tip housing sections. In the movable core contact plate section, a depressed section is formed in a direction crossing a longitudinal direction to bulge out to an opposite side to the contact support side is formed, and contact sections that come into contact with the through hole are formed on both ends of the depressed section.
Circuit breakers with shaped neutral busbars and/or load terminals and related methods
Arc Fault Circuit Interrupter (AFCI), Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) or AF/GF circuit breakers which may optionally have relatively small or compact bodies that have shaped neutral busbars and/or load terminals with an arm that extends through a window of a current transformer in a circuit breaker housing. The neutral busbar and/or load terminal can have a rigid or semi-rigid shaped body with a first segment that extends through the window of the current transformer and a second segment that extends behind the first segment about a printed circuit board. A plug-on, pigtail or bolt-on neutral can engage an electrical pad of the neutral busbar.
Thomson coil based actuator
An actuator for a mechanical switch, a mechanical switch, a circuit breaker and a high voltage power transmission system including such an actuator are disclosed. The actuator includes at least one armature and a first primary coil with turns wound around a central coil axis, where the armature is movable along the central coil axis and there is a magnetic flux concentrator provided at least around the first primary coil.
Remote operated circuit breaker with manual reset
A circuit breaker having a movable contact arm for opening and closing the circuit which is controlled separately by a circuit breaker mechanism for circuit protection and by a switch lever mechanism which does not require actuation of the circuit breaker mechanism to function. The switch lever may also be activated remotely by a remote actuator, for example, a solenoid. A manual reset mechanism is provided so that, actuation of which, when power has been lost to the remote actuator when the remote actuator is in the off position, moves the remote actuator to the on position, thereby resetting the circuit to the closed state.
Circuit breakers with moving contact arm with spaced apart contacts
Circuit breakers with moving contacts having a rocking movement, e.g., heel-toe action, are configured to direct arcing across one of two (first and second) spaced apart contacts on a moving arm to an adjacent arc chute to thereby alleviate deterioration due to arcing and improve conductivity of the first moving contact over time.
Circuit breakers with moving contact having heel-toe action
Circuit breakers with moving contacts having heel-toe action are configured to direct arcing across a small portion of a stationary contact surface to an adjacent arc chute to thereby alleviate deterioration due to arcing and improve conductivity of a major portion of the stationary contact and moving contact surface over time.
DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM PROTECTION DEVICE WITH RFID READER FOR VARIABLE CURRENT SETTING
A recloser for a distribution system includes a current sensor configured to measure an operating current of a distribution system. A controller is connected to the current sensor. The controller has at least one processor. A circuit interrupter is connected to the controller and configured to open a circuit to interrupt power in at least a portion of the distribution system. An RFID reader connected to the controller, the RFID reader configured to receive data from a user. The controller is configured to trigger the circuit interrupter to open the circuit in response to a detected fault current. The fault current is determined based on a selected fuse curve.

Interruption apparatus employing actuator having movable engagement element
An improved interruption apparatus includes a plurality of poles, with each of the poles including an actuator. In one embodiment, the actuator can be a fuse having a movable engagement element, and in another embodiment the actuator can be an electric coil that is operable to move a movable engagement element. The interruption apparatus has a single trip unit, and the engagement element of any actuator can actuate the trip unit to move all of the poles from a CLOSED state to an OPEN state.
