SYSTEMS AND METHODS OF DENTURE DUPLICATION
20230027641 · 2023-01-26 ·

Denture duplicating methods and systems are described that include a controller configured to scan a mold of a denture for a wearer using a scanner, create a denture specifications file associated with the mold of the denture, store the denture specifications file in non-transitory computer readable memory, upon request, retrieve the denture specifications file and load it into a milling design software program to generate a replacement denture platform design, and instruct a communicatively coupled three-dimensional printer to perform a print operation resulting in a replacement denture platform based in part on the replacement denture platform design before the replacement denture platform and milled teeth can then be sent to the wearer.

Scanning dental impressions

Systems and methods are provided for scanning a dental impression to obtain a digital model of a patient's dentition as an input to computer aided design (CAD) and computer aided manufacturing (CAM) methods for producing dental prostheses.

Dental prosthesis blank

A dental prosthesis is provided, manufactured from a monobloc or multibloc prosthesis blank (10), which is composed of a gum-colored material (14) and a tooth-colored material (12), which materials (12, 14) are bonded to each other by bonding, polymerization and/or one-piece manufacture. The boundary surface (16) between the materials is wave-shaped comprising alternating grooves (22) and ribs (24) in the course of the dental arch, and radial in an oral-vestibular direction in the region of the anterior teeth (33) to be created. The boundary surface (16), at least in the region of the molars (26)—again as viewed in the oral vestibular direction—has parallel grooves (22) and ribs (24) forming troughs and crests of the waveform, or grooves (22) and ribs (24) such that they extend in deviation from parallel by at most 10 degrees, in particular at most 5 degrees, at least in the region of the molars (26).

Method of layerwise building up an object and a 3D printing device for performing such a method

A method of layerwise building up an object from at least a first and a second light hardenable resin on a 3D printing device, and a 3D printing device that is configured to perform such a method. The 3D printing device has a build platform on which the object can be built up, a light-transmissive carrier comprising a plurality of recesses and a light projector for projecting a light-pattern through the carrier. The method has the steps of (a) partially building up the object and thereby providing an object-in-process; (b) coating a first surface area of the carrier with a first blank layer of the first light hardenable resin; (c) moving the carrier and thereby positioning the first blank layer between the build platform and the light projector; (d) bringing the object-in-process into contact with the first blank layer; (e) irradiating the first blank layer with a light pattern and thereby supplementing the object-in-process by a hardened layer; and (f) separating the supplemented object-in-process from the carrier.

Dental implants with markers for determining three-dimensional positioning

Dental implants including radiopaque markers provided therein or thereon. The implant may also include customizable length characteristics. For example, a kit may include implants with different diameters (e.g., 3 diameters), where all of the implants are of a single (e.g., long) length. The appropriate diameter implant may be selected from the kit by the practitioner, and the long length implant may be cut (e.g., with a dental drill) to the appropriate length needed. The implants include radiopaque markers on or within the implant. For example, three series of markers may be provided on different “faces” of the implant, so that the three series of markers serve as reference points when scanning, allowing triangulation of the exact position of the implant in relation to the surrounding hard and soft oral tissues.

Method of producing a dental prosthesis
11701207 · 2023-07-18 · ·

The invention relates to a method of producing a dental prosthesis from a one-piece or multi-piece prosthesis blank which is constructed from a gum-colored material and a tooth-colored material (32), in particular in each case on a plastic base. It is characterized by being connected to each other at connecting surfaces, having an interface between the gum-colored and tooth-colored materials. This interface, when viewed along the connecting surfaces has an undulating shape and viewed in the vestibular direction has a radial shape. In order to finish the dental prosthesis, a CAD/CAM device determines the exact course of a gingival line, based on patient-specific data, and produces the prosthesis.
