BONE PLATE AND METHOD FOR USE IN A TIBIAL PLATEAU LEVELING OSTEOTOMY (TPLO)
A tibial plateau leveling osteotomy (TPLO) system is provided for surgical correction of a stifle joint of an animal. The system includes a bone plate, fixed angle locking screw, compression screw, and a K-wire. The bone plate includes first surface and a second surfaces having common structure such that each can be positioned against the bone. The plate has a first shaft portion with a dynamic compression screw hole having a major length both extending along a first axis, and second shaft portion with a second axis and K-wire slot defining a major axis angled relative to the second axis but parallel to the first axis. The locking screw has double lead threads and the threaded holes in the plate have quad-lead threads.
Intraocular gas injector
A gas mixture apparatus includes a measurement control system, an activation system, a pressurized chamber with one or more gases, and a mixing chamber. A filter can be preattached to an outlet of the mixture apparatus, allowing excess gas to be discharged therethrough and then atmospheric air to be drawn into the mixture apparatus through the filter for creating a therapeutic gas mixture.

CONTAINER FOR BLOOD VOLUME ASSESSMENT
Disclosed are methods, materials and devices for approximation of blood volume in a fluid, such as in a biological fluid collected during a surgical procedure. The method and devices include the use of a RBC flocculant, such as polyDADMAC, and an approximate blood hematocrit for the type of animal, as well as a calculated RBC packing ratio corresponding to the collection device being used. Also provided is a Blood Indicator Panel (BIP), comprising a series of markings calculated from an observed red blood settlement volume, the average animal type hematocrit, and a calculated RBC packing ratio “η” value for the collection device. Pediatric (about 200 ml or 250 ml size container), adult human (about 1,000 ml-1,500 ml) and veterinary (about 500 ml-2,500 ml) collection containers are also disclosed, that include a RBC flocculant, for use in approximating blood volume in a fluid.
TPLO PLATE COMPRESSION SYSTEM AND METHOD
TPLO plate includes a body having a proximal portion positioned over a cut and repositioned proximal segment of a tibia during a procedure and a distal portion positioned over a distal segment of the tibia during the procedure and a first distal hole extending through a proximal end of the distal portion from the first surface to the second surface. The first hole is configured so that the body is rotatable about a fixation element seated therein in combination with a second distal hole extending through the distal portion distally of the first hole. The second hole includes a compression surface along a caudal side thereof, so that a head portion of a fixation element is slid therealong during insertion into the second hole and the distal end is moved caudally relative to the fixation element and the body is rotated about the fixation element in the first hole relative to the recess of the first hole, cranially compressing the proximal segment against the distal segment.

METHOD FOR PROVIDING CONTROL DATA FOR A LASER OF A TREATMENT APPARATUS
An apparatus and method are disclosed for providing control data for a laser of a treatment apparatus for the correction of a cornea. The method includes determining a look-up table for preset corneal parameters by a corneal deformation model, wherein the cornea can be modeled in deformed and non-deformed states by the corneal deformation model. A value of at least one preset corneal parameter in the non-deformed state of the cornea is varied and an effect of this variation on values of the corneal parameters in the deformed state of the cornea is ascertained for determining the look-up table. The method further includes ascertaining a corneal value to be achieved from predetermined examination data, determining by the look-up table a deformation-corrected corneal value to be achieved for compensating for the deformation of the cornea, and providing control data, which uses the deformation-corrected corneal value for correcting the cornea.
