Antenna apparatus and antenna module
An antenna apparatus includes a ground layer having a through-hole; a feed via disposed to pass through the through-hole; a patch antenna pattern disposed on the ground layer and electrically connected to one end of the feed via; a first coupling patch pattern disposed on the patch antenna pattern; a second coupling patch pattern disposed between the first coupling patch pattern and the patch antenna pattern; and a dielectric layer disposed in at least of a portion a space between the first coupling patch pattern and the second coupling patch pattern so that a dielectric constant of at least a portion of a space between the patch antenna pattern and the second coupling patch pattern is lower than a dielectric constant of the space between the first coupling patch portion and the second coupling patch pattern.
5-6 GHz wideband dual-polarized massive MIMO antenna arrays
5-6 GHz wideband dual-polarized MIMO array antennas are disclosed. The antennas comprise a double layered PCB, a single layered PCB and a plurality of microstrip patch antennas. The microstrip patches are radiating elements which are coupled to apertures in the ground plane. The aperture coupling avoids the need for complex multi-layered boards with plated via holes. Standard SMA connectors can be used with the array antenna.
Modal Antenna System Including Closed-Loop Parasitic Element
An antenna system can include a ground plane and a driven element spaced apart from the ground plane. The antenna system can include a parasitic element disposed proximate to the driven element. The parasitic element can be coupled to the ground plane by a first coupling and a second coupling. The second coupling can be independent from the first coupling. For instance, the first coupling can include one or more tunable components. The second coupling can fix the parasitic element to the ground plane.
SUBSTRATE INTEGRATED WAVEGUIDE FED ANTENNA
A substrate integrated waveguide fed antenna includes an electric dipole arrangement, a parasitic patch arrangement operably coupled with the electric dipole arrangement, and a feed structure. The feed structure includes a substrate integrated waveguide operably coupled with the electric dipole arrangement for exciting the electric dipole arrangement. A slotted conductive surface with a slot is arranged between the electric dipole arrangement and the feed structure for operably coupling the feed structure with the electric dipole arrangement.
Inter-Dwelling Signal Management Using Reconfigurable Antennas
A communication system utilizing reconfigurable antenna systems is described where beam steering and null forming techniques are incorporated to limit the region or volume available for communication with client devices. The communication system described restricts communication to defined or desired area and degrades signal strength coverage outside of a prescribed region. An algorithm is used to control the antenna system to monitor and control antenna system performance across the service area. This antenna system technique is applicable for use in communication systems such as a Local Area Network (LAN), cellular communication network, and Machine to Machine (M2M).
Filter arrangement
A filter arrangement having three or more stacked metallization layers separated by printed circuit board, PCB, layers. Each metallization layer includes an aperture. The filter arrangement has a plurality of via-holes extending though the stacked metallization layers and through the separating Dielectric material layers, whereby the via-holes and the metallization layers delimit a cavity in each Dielectric material layer. The cavities in two consecutive Dielectric material layers being coupled by the aperture in the single metallization layer separating the two consecutive Dielectric material layers. The aperture of a topmost metallization layer being arranged as antenna element. The filter arrangement having a signal interface arranged as a conduit connecting at least one dielectric material layer to an exterior of the filter arrangement.
Ultra compact ultra broad band dual polarized base station antenna
The invention refers to a radiating element comprising a support structure, a first dipole arranged on the support structure, and at least one electrically closed ring arranged on the support structure, wherein the ring surrounds the first dipole and is galvanically isolated from the first dipole, wherein a resonance frequency of the first dipole is higher than a center frequency of an operational bandwidth of the radiating element.
Configurable guided wave launcher and methods for use therewith
In accordance with one or more embodiments, a guided wave launcher includes an array of antennas configured to generate near field signals. A controller is configured to: select, in response to a first control signal, at least one of a plurality of guided wave modes; and adjust beam steering parameters of the array of antennas according to the selected one(s) of the plurality of guided wave modes. The near field signals combine to induce a guided electromagnetic wave having the selected one(s) of the plurality of guided wave modes, wherein the first guided electromagnetic wave is guided by the transmission medium and propagates along the transmission medium without requiring an electrical return path.
Antenna device, antenna module, and communication apparatus
A radiation conductor is constructed of a metal plate having a pair of main surfaces pointing in opposite directions. Each main surface of the pair of main surfaces includes a first surface region that includes at least part of a peripheral edge portion of the main surface. At least one main surface of the pair of main surfaces includes a second surface region that is a region other than the first surface region. A dielectric member holds the radiation conductor in such a manner that the first surface region of each main surface of the pair of main surfaces is sandwiched between portions of the dielectric member in a thickness direction of the radiation conductor. The second surface region of the at least one main surface is exposed.
Communications device
A communications device is provided, including a metal carrier having a mounting plane with at least one mounting area, and further includes an antenna element disposed in each mounting area. The mounting area is where the mounting plane intersects a circle centered at a feedpoint of the antenna element in the area and whose radius does not exceed a specified radius. When a boundary line of the mounting area includes a boundary line, a distance from the feedpoint to the boundary line is less than or equal to a specified distance; and/or when a boundary line of the mounting area includes a vertex of the mounting plane, a distance from the feedpoint to the vertex is less than or equal to a specified distance. A feed position on the antenna element is designed to obtain relatively good antenna roundness performance and enhance an antenna signal coverage effect.
