Microclip appliance formed from a single conductive planar metal sheet includes portions defined along an elongated length including a pin receiver, a solder paddle and a bridge. The pin receiver includes first and second planar rings, and a spring bar extending from a periphery of the first ring to a periphery of the second ring. The solder paddle is comprised of a portion of the conductive metal sheet distal from the pin receiver and the bridge extends from a peripheral portion of the solder paddle to the second ring. Lateral bends are disposed along a length of the conductive planar metal sheet to facilitate the various portions of the microclip.

In one embodiment, an electrical contact includes a leg portion configured to extend in a first direction, a foot portion coupled with the leg portion, the foot portion having a surface that extends in a second direction that is substantially perpendicular to the first direction, the surface being configured to directly couple with solderable material to form a solder joint, a heel portion adjoining the leg portion and the foot portion, the heel portion having a profile shape, and a toe portion extending from the foot portion and disposed opposite to the heel portion, the toe portion having a profile shape that is symmetric with the profile shape of the heel portion. The present invention refers to a busbar for electrically connecting a plurality of cells of a battery module. In order to electrically disconnect the battery cells from each other upon thermal runaway of at least one of the cells or short circuit, the busbar includes a core and a shell at least partially made of a first material, said first material being an electrically conducting material, wherein the core is at least partially made of a second material having a coefficient of thermal expansion which is significantly higher than the coefficient of thermal expansion of the first material.

An embodiment of a circuit includes a circuit module and an inductor disposed over and electrically coupled to the module. Disposing the inductor over the module may reduce the area occupied by the circuit as compared to a circuit where the inductor is disposed adjacent to the module, or to a circuit where the inductor is disposed in the module adjacent to other components of the module. Furthermore, disposing the inductor outside of the module may allow one to install or replace the inductor.
