Board to board connector assembly, female connector and male connector

A board to board connector assembly is disclosed in this invention, which includes a female connector and a male connector. Each female terminal has an elastic engaging section and a first protrusion located on the top of the elastic engaging section. Each male terminal has an elastic arm and a second protrusion located on the top of the elastic arm. When the female connector is matched with the male connector, the second protrusion passes the first protrusion, and a bottom surface of the second protrusion and a bottom surface of the first protrusion are engaged with each other and together form a holding state. The board to board connector assembly can ensure the reliable connection of the two connectors by the engagement of the female and male terminals.

CONNECTOR, AND HEADER AND SOCKET USED IN CONNECTOR

In a connector, fitting a socket housing and a header housing to each other brings a socket-side signal terminal and a header-side signal terminal into contact with each other, and brings a socket-side power supply terminal and a header-side power supply terminal into contact with each other. The socket-side signal terminal and the socket-side power supply terminal are disposed along a long side direction of the socket housing. In the long side direction of the socket housing, the socket-side signal terminal is smaller than the socket-side power supply terminal in width.

ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR

An electrical connector has an insulating body which comprises a housing and a tongue; a plurality of conductive terminals, each conductive terminal has a mating portion and a soldering portion; a metal inner shell which surrounds to form a first frame, the first frame is fixed on the insulating body and surrounds a rear portion of the tongue to form a mating cavity; a metal outer shell which surrounds to form a second frame, the second frame encircles an outside of the first frame, a plurality of soldering legs extend out from two sides of the metal outer shell; and an insulating outer shell which is engaged with the metal outer shell integrally, a rear portion of the insulating outer shell is formed with a receiving cavity; the metal inner shell is correspondingly inserted in the receiving cavity, the insulating outer shell surrounds a front portion of the tongue and forms an insertion opening, the insertion opening is integrally communicated with the mating cavity along a front-rear direction. The present disclosure can increase the overall structure strength and facilitate the smooth insertion of another mating connector.

MICRO PLUG CONNECTOR

A micro plug connector has an insulative housing with multiple mounting holes, multiple terminals respectively mounted in the mounting holes, and a shielding shell covering the insulative housing and the terminals. Each terminal has a mounting section mounted in the insulative housing, a welding section protruding backward from a rear end of the mounting section and protruding out of a rear portion of the insulative housing, and an electrical connection section protruding forward from a front end of the mounting section and partially exposed out of a corresponding one of the mounting holes. Each of at least one of the terminals has an anti-bending protrusion abutting against an inner top surface defined in the corresponding one of the mounting holes. The anti-bending protrusion prevents a distal end of the electrical connection section of the terminal from bending up and contacting the shielding shell by accident.

Terminal structure of high-frequency signal connector and manufacturing method thereof

A terminal structure of a high-frequency signal connector and a manufacturing method thereof, in which multiple first terminals and multiple second terminals, multiple excavation areas and multiple trimming lines are trimmed from a tape, the first terminals and the second terminals are arranged alternately, each of the trimming lines is located between one of the first terminals and one of the second terminals that are disposed next to each other, followed by stamping the first terminals and the second terminals to form a first terminal set and a second terminal set. The first terminals and the second terminals are formed simultaneously on a single tape, and in turn, the period for fabricating dies and developing dies may be reduced, and less metal tapes is wasted after blanking of the first terminals and the second terminals, in order to decrease processes and reduce a manufacturing cost of the connector effectively.

Terminating tool for terminating wires to a communication module; and methods

Aspects and techniques of the present disclosure relate to a tool capable of terminating two different jack types (i.e. communication modules). That is, two different jack types can be arranged and configured to sit in the tool with a termination device. The tool can be a dual-purpose tool that has a configuration that allows a user to terminate different style jacks by adding termination device that becomes a lacing fixture.

Integrated connector port module

A connector port module and a method of manufacturing the same. The connector port module includes a circuit board, with a connector having a plurality of connector pads formed on the circuit board configured to electrically connect to a mating connector. At least one via hole is formed in the circuit board for reinforcing the physical integrity and the heat diffusivity of the circuit board. The connector port module is capable of supporting Universal Serial Bus (USB) (e.g. USB-C) and Thunderbolt 3 connectors. The method includes: providing a circuit board; forming a plurality of connector pads on the circuit board configured to electrically connect to a mating connector; and forming at least one via hole for reinforcing physical integrity of the circuit board.

UNIVERSAL SERIAL BUS (USB) CABLE TYPE DETECTION AND CONTROL TECHNIQUES

Universal Serial Bus (USB) cable type detection and control techniques are disclosed. In an exemplary aspect, a device connected to a cable detects whether the cable is a legacy cable (i.e., a Type-A to Type-C cable). If the cable is a legacy cable, the device determines an appropriate current to draw based on whether the cable is compliant with the USB Type-C specification or non-compliant. Additional exemplary aspects of the present disclosure determine whether a connector adaptor has been put on a legacy cable and determines an appropriate current to draw based on the capabilities of the legacy cable. Still further aspects of the present disclosure evaluate not only the cable to see if the cable limits the current draw, but also evaluate a device at a distal end of the cable to verify if and how current may be drawn by such remote device from a mobile terminal.
