This invention provides a power switch circuit and a power circuit using the power switch circuit. In particular, the power switch circuit includes a first reverse current monitoring circuit and a second reverse current monitoring circuit. The first reverse current monitoring circuit is coupled to a power transistor, and is configured to detect whether a reverse current flows through the power transistor to a voltage input terminal for a predetermined period of time, and only if yes, turn off the power transistor. The second reverse current monitoring circuit is coupled to the power transistor, and is configured to detect whether a reverse current flows through the power transistor to the voltage input terminal, and if yes, turn off the power transistor immediately. As such, the reverse current can be blocked in time from further flowing to the voltage input terminal, thereby avoiding a damage to the interior electronic components of the power source at the low voltage side.

Signal-level based control of power grid load systems

The present invention relates to a load control system in which a power cable of a DC or AC is used for on/off control and dimming of connected load devices without adding significant hardware structure. The control is achieved through a change in the DC or AC bus voltage. A grid controller can perform on/off control and dimming for an entire group of connected load devices by changing the bus voltage. Connected load devices that do understand or want to make use of this feature will be unaffected. In order to reduce the effects of voltage drop, a calibration procedure is provided. The calibration procedure first triggers the connected load devices into a calibration mode and then initiates a number of predefined output level commands that allow the load devices to build an individual correction for the undesired voltage drop.

An apparatus may include a bus that electrically couples an electrical load to redundant power feeds. The apparatus may also include at least one capacitive component electrically coupled between first and second rails of the bus via both a conductive path and a resistive path that has substantially greater resistance than the conductive path. In addition, the apparatus may include a switching mechanism electrically coupled between the first and second rails of the bus that causes the capacitive component to charge through the conductive path until a threshold voltage on the first rail of the bus is reached. When the threshold voltage on the first rail of the bus is reached, the switching mechanism may close the conductive path and force the capacitive component to charge through the resistive path. Various other systems and methods are also disclosed.
