Power supply with boost stage to improve ride through performance
A power supply includes a Primary or “high voltage” side and a Secondary or “low voltage” side. The primary side has boost stage circuitry that includes a boost stage controller that causes the boost stage circuitry to provide electrical energy, at least at a minimum boost voltage, to an energy storage capacitor. The energy storage capacitor may be charged by electrical energy at the minimum boost voltage and discharge electrical energy during a ride through event to power the electronic device.
AUXILIARY ENERGY CIRCUIT FOR BATTERY-POWERED POWER TOOL
A power tool comprising a power tool housing, an auxiliary power source, a user input for user control of power tool operation, and a controller. The controller is configured to receive a control signal from the user input, control the power tool in response to the control signal, receive, from a sensor, a signal indicative of an operational characteristic of the power tool, and selectively provide energy from the auxiliary power source to a load of the power tool based on the operational characteristic of the power tool.

Apparatus, method and article for authentication, security and control of power storage devices, such as batteries
A network of collection, charging and distribution machines collect, charge and distribute portable electrical energy storage devices (e.g., batteries, supercapacitors or ultracapacitors). To charge, the machines employ electrical current from an external source, such as the electrical grid or an electrical service of an installation location. By default, each portable electrical energy storage device is disabled from accepting a charge unless it receives authentication information from an authorized collection, charging and distribution machine, other authorized charging device, or other authorized device that transmits the authentication credentials. Also, by default, each portable electrical energy storage device is disabled from releasing energy unless it receives authentication information from an external device to which it will provide power, such as a vehicle or other authorization device.

Isolated communications apparatus and power supply system
An isolated communications apparatus applied to a transformer. The transformer includes N first rectifier units and a second rectifier unit, and the isolated communications apparatus includes N first control units, a second control unit, and a signal convergence unit. The first control units are connected to the first rectifier units in a one-to-one correspondence. Each first control unit is connected to the signal convergence unit, and the signal convergence unit and the second control unit are connected through an optical fiber. The signal convergence unit is configured to: receive first data packets from the N first control units, send the first data packets to the second control unit, receive at least one second data packet from the second control unit, determine a first control unit corresponding to each second data packet, and send each second data packet to a corresponding first control unit.
Photovoltaic energy generating system, supply line for an energy generating system, mating plug, and power inverter
A photovoltaic energy generation system with a string including a series connection of solar modules, which string is electrically connected to an inverter via power lines for converting and feeding electrical power from the string into a network. The inverter is configured to obtain an alternative operating power from only one of the solar modules in the event that normal operating power can be obtained neither from the network nor from the entire string. A supply line can supply the alternative operating power to the inverter. Furthermore, the connectors and mating connectors of such a supply line are described, which can also be installed with an inverter.

Constant voltage power distribution system for use with an electric hydraulic fracturing system
A hydraulic fracturing system includes a turbine generator for producing electricity at a well site, the turbine generator producing electrical energy at a voltage. The system also includes an electric pump electrically coupled to the turbine generator and receiving operative power from the turbine generator. The system further includes switch gear arranged between the electric pump and the turbine generator, the switch gear distributing electrical energy from the turbine generator to the electric pump, wherein the voltage remains substantially constant from the turbine generator to the electric pump.
MODULAR POWER NETWORK DEVICE
A modular system is described which can provide high frequency monitoring of power use and responsive control as well as enabling network connectivity for centralised monitoring and operation. One modular system consists of a communications bus, end caps, and a combination of the modules providing communications, power metering, relay control and battery backup. Each modular system can be configured with a combination of modular units as needed for the application. A combination of bus communication monitoring and tilt detection provides security against external tampering after installation.
