By judging whether a current carrying capacity passing through an electric transmission line portion at a certain time exceeds an allowable current carrying capacity, the alarm time threshold t.sub.1 is far lower than 20%, an alarm is capable of being given for an abnormal situation in time, and a necessary remaining life of an electric device or system can be predicted by randomly measuring an input current I.sub.in i, an output current I.sub.out i, and errors of input and output currents, so that cross liability is avoided.

Systems and methods for operating a hybrid power system are disclosed. A controller may perform operations, including: obtaining load data for the hybrid power system; obtaining power availability data and energy cost data for each power asset in each power asset group of a plurality of power asset groups; and determining active power commands for each power asset by performing at least one optimization, such that the determined active power commands optimize a total operating cost, wherein: the at least one optimization is based on at least one cost function that accounts for asset degradation, asset maintenance cost, asset operation efficiency cost, and the energy cost data; and the at least one optimization is constrained by a plurality of constraints based on the load data, the power availability data, and characteristics of the power assets; and operating each power asset based on the determined active power commands.

A computer-automated maintaining of circuit breakers in a power distribution infrastructure based upon operating conditions recorded during breaker events of particular identified circuit breakers is described herein. The breaker event data sets are accumulated initially by file servers in a variety of formats. A parser performs an automated parsing of the breaker event data sets to render breaker event records that are thereafter stored in a central data repository. Maintenance engines apply data analysis and decision logic to particular event records for particular identified circuit breakers obtained from the central data repository and issue requests for actions to be taken with respect to the particular identified circuit breakers based upon operating conditions experienced by the particular identified circuit breakers.

The number of the actuators may be greater than the number of the terminals. The control circuit may measure signals at the terminals and determine a state configuration for the actuators based on the measured signals. The control circuit may compare the state configuration to a predetermined dataset to detect a ghosting condition.
