METHODS, DEVICES, AND SYSTEMS FOR IMPROVING SKIN CHARACTERISTICS
Provided herein are systems, compositions, and methods for improving one or more skin characteristics in a subject. These systems, compositions, and methods are configured to cool the subject's skin at a target site to a degree that alters adipocyte signaling but does not produce significant destruction of subcutaneous lipid-rich cells. In some embodiments, alteration of adipocyte signaling produces an improvement in one or more skin characteristics.
Systems and methods for animal patient health management during veterinary procedures
Implementations described and claimed herein provide systems and methods for managing animal patient during a veterinary procedure. In one implementation, a base has an interior surface, an exterior surface, and an opening. An electrode is disposed in the opening. The electrode is configured to communicate with medical device(s) for monitoring vital(s) of the patient during the procedure. A thermal insulator extends from the base. The thermal insulator forms a housing. An internal cavity is defined within the housing. The foot of the patient is receivable into the internal cavity. The thermal insulator regulates the body temperature of the animal patient during the veterinary procedure by retaining heat within the internal cavity.
CLINICAL GARMENT WITH INSULATION
Aspects of the present disclosure can be related to a warming device, systems, and methods of using. The warming device can include a clinical garment comprising a body portion adapted to cover a portion of a patient, an inner surface configured to face the patient, and an outer surface opposite the inner surface. The body portion can include sleeves sized and positioned for receiving the patients arms. In addition, the clinical garment can include an insulative layer comprising an insulative edge portion disposed on the clinical garment. The insulative edge portion is configured to make the warming device non-linting.
Convective Warming Device
Aspects of the present disclosure relate to a warming system including a warming device. The warming device includes a clinical garment comprising a body portion adapted to cover a portion of a patient, an inner surface for facing the patient, and an outer surface for facing away from the patient. The body portion includes sleeves sized and positioned for receiving the patient's arms and a torso portion adapted to cover an anterior torso of a patient. A first pneumatic convective device can be disposed adjacent to the inner surface of the clinical garment. The pneumatic convective device can include an opening formed in the clinical garment for admitting a stream of pressurized, warmed air into the first pneumatic convective device. The warming system can also have a second pneumatic convective device in a fully-folded configuration or partially-folded configuration and disposed on a portion of the clinical garment.
APPARATUS, METHOD AND ASSOCIATED SENSOR HEAD FOR SHIVERING DETECTION
A shivering detection apparatus (100) for detecting shivering of a patient (150) is provided. The apparatus (100) comprises a control unit (110) operatively connected to a transmit unit (120), for transmitting a transmit signal (170) based on a reference signal (140) of a transmit frequency towards the patient (150). The control unit is further operatively connected to a receive unit (130), for receiving a receive signal (190) as a portion of a reflected signal (180) comprising a portion of the transmit signal (170) reflected by the patient (150). The control unit (110) is configured to compare the receive signal (190) to the reference signal (140) and to detect shivering of the patient (150) as differences between the receive signal (190) and the reference signal (140). An associated method and sensor head is also provided.
ADVANCED HEATING PAD
A multi layer advanced heating pad comprising a reflective layer proximate to a heating layer and a black body a layer configured to concentrate and amplify heat emitted from the heating layer and reflected by the reflective layer.
BLANKET FOR SOOTHING USERS EXPERIENCING HOT FLASHES AND COLD FLASHES
Disclosed herein is a blanket for soothing users experiencing hot flashes and cold flashes, in accordance with some embodiments. Accordingly, the blanket may include at least one first blanket portion and at least one second blanket portion. Further, the at least one first blanket portion may include at least one first element and the at least one second blanket portion may include at least one second element. Further, the at least one first blanket portion configured for soothing at least one first effect of the hot flashes experienced by at least one user based on the at least one first element. Further, the at least one second blanket portion may be configured for soothing at least one second effect of the cold flashes experienced by the at least one user based on the at least one second element.
Rejuvenating Beauty Care Tool for Skin and Body
A rejuvenating beauty care tool for skin and body is an apparatus that enables the user to treat different skin and body areas using different therapeutic and cosmetic techniques. The apparatus may include a handle, a first arm, a second arm, a plurality of first rollers, and a plurality of second rollers. The handle enables the user to comfortably operate the apparatus using only one hand. The handle also supports the first arm and the second arm when the first arm and the second arm are pressed against the user's body. The first arm presses the plurality of first rollers against a first target body area. Likewise, the second arm presses the plurality of second rollers against a second target body area. Further, both the plurality of first rollers and the plurality of second rollers enable the application of the desired cosmetic or therapeutic treatment onto the target body areas.
TISSUE TREATMENT METHODS
Methods are provided herein for affecting a region of a subject's body, comprising exposing the region to a cooling element under conditions effective to cool subcutaneous adipose tissue in said region; and increasing the blood flow rate to the cooled tissue by exposing the tissue to an energy source. Methods are also provided for treating subcutaneous adipose tissue in a region of a subject's body, comprising exposing said region to a cooling element under conditions effective to cool said tissue; and exposing the tissue to an energy source to increase the blood flow rate to the cooled tissue, thereby stimulating reperfusion in, and/or causing an ischemia-reperfusion injury to, the cooled tissue.
TREATMENT SYSTEMS WITH FLUID MIXING SYSTEMS AND FLUID-COOLED APPLICATORS AND METHODS OF USING THE SAME
