Dynamic trap for simple network management protocol
11632307 · 2023-04-18 · ·

A method and apparatus for managing a managed device on a network. An agent is run on the managed device. During runtime of the agent on the managed device, the agent receives dynamic trap parameter update values from network management station software running on a manager computer. The agent uses the dynamic trap parameter update values to set dynamic trap parameter values including trigger parameter values defining conditions for sending a dynamic trap. After setting the dynamic trap parameter values, the agent monitors the managed device to identify occurrence of an event that satisfies the conditions defined by the trigger parameter values. In response to identifying the occurrence of the event, the agent sends the dynamic trap to the network management station software running on the manager computer.

Data center network device sensing

Provided is a process of managing rack-mounted computing devices in a data center with a distributed peer-to-peer management system, the process including: determining roles of data-center management computing devices in a distributed peer-to-peer data-center management system; receiving, via an out-of-band network, a data-center management command at a given data-center management computing device; distributing, based on at least some of the roles, via the out-of-band network, the data-center management command.

Assisted replication in software defined network

A software defined networking (SDN) controller is configured to receive, from a Top-Of-Rack (TOR) switch, a first multicast route and a second multicast route. In response to determining that the first multicast route is an assisted replication route, the SDN controller is configured to add a first nexthop specified by the first multicast route to a list of nexthops for Broadcast, Unknown-Unicast, and Multicast (BUM) traffic. In response to determining that the second multicast route is not the assisted replication route, the SDN controller is configured to refrain from adding a second nexthop specified by the second multicast route to the list of nexthops. After adding the first nexthop, the SDN controller is configured to provision the list of nexthops at a virtual router.

Systems and methods for subscribing topics and registering computer server event notifications
11665045 · 2023-05-30 · ·

Systems and methods are disclosed for secure transmission of computer server event notifications, including receiving a topic subscription request from a partner, registering the partner topic subscription request, obtaining a new computer server event to report, determining a subscribed partner subscribed to computer server events of a same type as the new computer server event, transmitting an event notification to the subscribed partner, and registering the event notification.

Fine-grained SD-WAN optimization services for cloud-native applications

In one embodiment, a device of a software-defined wide area network (SD-WAN) receives, from a cloud-native application, contextual data for the cloud-native application that identifies microservices of the cloud-native application. The device translates the contextual data for the cloud-native application into a network policy for traffic in the SD-WAN associated with the cloud-native application. The device applies the network policy to a traffic flow in the SD-WAN between an endpoint and a particular microservice of the cloud-native application.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PROVIDING ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONALITY TO EXISTING SOFTWARE IN AN INTEGRATED MANNER

An improved system and method are disclosed for improving functionality in software applications. In one example, the method includes a computing entity having a network interface, a processor, and a memory configured to store a plurality of instructions. The instructions include instructions for a superblock application having instructions for a function block included therein. The function block is configured to provide functions that are accessible to the superblock application via an application programming interface (API). The functions are provided within the superblock application itself and are accessible within the superblock application without switching context to another application on the computing entity.

RADIO LINK FAILURE REPORTING METHOD AND USER EQUIPMENT
20230164866 · 2023-05-25 ·

The present disclosure provides a radio link failure reporting method and user equipment. The radio link failure reporting method comprises: user equipment (UE) detecting a radio link failure (RLF) of a master cell group (MCG); the UE initiating a fast MCG link recovery procedure to recover a connection to a network side; the UE transmitting a radio link failure report to the network side, wherein the radio link failure report comprises first fast MCG link recovery information, and the first fast MCG link recovery information is used to indicate that the UE has attempted a fast MCG link recovery function based on the fast MCG link recovery procedure after a radio link corresponding to the radio link failure report fails.

Intent Negotiation Method and Apparatus
20230164034 · 2023-05-25 ·

An intent negotiation method and apparatus are provided. The method includes: A first network element sends a first sub-intent of a first intent to a second network element, and sends a second sub-intent of the first intent and indication information to the second network element, where the indication information is used to indicate that the first sub-intent and the second sub-intent have a same action and a same object.

Virtual systems management
11656915 · 2023-05-23 · ·

An apparatus and method for automatic configuration management of a network are provided. The apparatus and method may provide a virtualization system that has an inventory that includes physical resources and virtual assets managed by a virtualization layer running on the physical resources; wherein virtual assets are software instantiations of computer systems, receive a virtual asset provisioning request that specifies parameters to be considered for the virtual asset provisioning request and receive data on inventory available in the virtualization system. The apparatus and method may automatically provision a particular virtual asset to a particular physical resource in the virtualization system that matches the parameters in the virtual asset provisioning request, assign the provisioned virtual asset to the virtual asset provisioning request and provide user access to the provisioned virtual asset.
