A system and method for push-to-talk (PTT) key one-touch calling is provided. In an embodiment, a client device accesses a discontinuous reception (DRX) mode policy. The DRX mode policy is in accordance with push-to-talk (PTT) usage patterns of at least the client device. The client device selects a DRX cycle time based on the DRX mode policy. The client device applies the DRX cycle time to a cellular network interface of the client device.

In one embodiment, a method includes creating a catalog of service function (“SF”) profiles, wherein each of the profiles is associated with an SF and indicates a type of the associated SF; storing the catalog of SF profiles in a memory device of a service controller associated with the DVS; creating a service profile group template (“SPGT”) that includes at least one SF profile from the catalog of SF profiles, wherein the SPGT includes a service chain definition identifying at least one service chain comprising the SF associated with the at least one SF profile to be executed in connection with a service path and at least one policy for classifying traffic to the at least one service chain; deploying a first SPG instance based on the SPGT; and deploying an additional SPG instance based on the SPGT in accordance with a scaling policy included in the SPGT.

This disclosure is directed to an intelligent transducer for transforming a first event signal received from an input signal system into a second event signal transmitted to an output signal system by using a first event signal-specific transformation signal received from one or more disparate application signal systems and sensing an attribute of the first event signal-specific transformation signal.

An image forming apparatus includes multiple network interfaces to be connected to different networks, a management-information storage, a management-information generating unit, and a transmitting unit. The management-information storage stores management information. In accordance with a management information transmission request received via one of the network interfaces, the management-information generating unit extracts information which is to be transmitted through the network interface through which the request has been received, from the management information, and generates transmission management information to be transmitted. The transmitting unit transmits the transmission management information generated by the management-information generating unit, from the network interface through which the request has been received.

A host computing system includes an applications layer containing one or more user applications that perform I/O operations, an access methods layer that communicates with the applications layer, an I/O drivers layer that communicates with the access methods layer, and an SSCH simulation layer that communicates with the I/O drivers layer and that simulates a Fibre Channel connection that is accessed by applications in the applications layer. The host computing system may also include a TCP/IP stack layer that communicates with the SSCH simulation layer to provide TCP/IP communication for the host computing system. TCP/IP communication provided by the TCP/IP stack layer may be separate from any dedicated TCP/IP communication provided by the host. The host computing system may be coupled to a TCP/IP network. A cloud storage may be coupled to the network to communicate with the host computing system.

An apparatus for dispensing compounds bearing scent in which one or more scent dispensing units contain each one scent bearing compound and is activated mechanically by an electromechanical activator. A user handled device contains a controller, a memory and a communications device. Resident hardware includes a resident channel for communicating with the user handled device and a controlled driver for controlling the scent dispenser mechanically. A wireless peer to peer communications system carries out the communications between the user device and the resident hardware. The user can input parameter for controlling the dispensing unit through a user device interface. A controller in the resident hardware implements a dispenser activation scheme, mechanically expressed by the activator of the scent dispensing unit.

Techniques are directed to a cloud-integrated enterprise-class data storage array. It includes (a) an enclosure, (b) a set of storage drives mounted in the enclosure, (c) network interface circuitry mounted in the enclosure, the network interface circuitry communicatively connecting the cloud-integrated enterprise-class data storage array to a network to form a distributed virtualized computing environment, and (d) a redundant set of storage processors mounted in the enclosure. The redundant set of storage processors are configured to (1) process data storage operations directed at the set of storage drives in a highly-available and deterministic manner and (2) operate a cloud storage management node of the distributed virtualized computing environment to manage assignment of logical disks to respective virtual machines of the distributed virtualized computing environment, the logical disks including storage from the set of storage drives. A fiber link system, method and device for masking signals on a fiber link system. The system includes sending a desired sequence of information in the form of a true signal that is typically intended to be transferred between legitimate users at both ends of a link. Sending chaff signals, or subterfuge signals, alongside the true signal to mask such legitimate signals in the fiber cable from intruders tapping into the fiber cable.

A transmission control method and apparatus for network services and controller. The transmission control method for network services includes: negotiating, before start of the network services, operational modes supported by each of links, and detecting quality of services in the operational modes supported by each of the links; grouping all network services to be transmitted according to requirements of the network services on quality of services and the quality of services in the operational modes supported by each of the links, and allocating links and operational modes for each of the groups; and designating a link for each of the network services in the groups according to the links and operational modes allocated for each of the groups. Hence, abilities of transmission quality detection and adjustment of a multi-carrier optical communication system may be used to satisfy quality requirements of different network services.
