According to the present invention, a mobile terminal device includes: an operation input section which accepts operations; a memory section which previously stores a list of states of the mobile terminal device during use as locking conditions to determine a state at the time of limiting an operation of the mobile terminal device; a state determining section which generates state information in accordance with a state of the mobile terminal device; and a function limiting section which determines whether the state information meets the locking conditions, and switches the mobile terminal device to a locked state to limit an operation of the operation input section, when the state information is determined to meet the locking conditions.

A system and methodology associated with a connected farming system utilizing a novel system architecture which includes grain bin sensors that detect grain temperatures and/or moisture levels at multiple locations within a grain bin and wherein sensory data is communicated to a reader device so as to permit the reader device to detect one or more hot spots, heating conditions within the grain housed in the grain bin. The indicia of these hot spots, and/or heating conditions and/or raw sensory data are wirelessly communicated to a gateway device which may further communicate the presence or absence of these hot spots and/or heating conditions and/or raw sensory data to one or more user devices via a network connection and/or the cloud. The system and methodology also permits the detection and reporting of a possible grain theft occurrence within one or more grain bins.

A method for providing an exclusive wireless service proposal to a subscriber includes the steps of conducting measurements of at least one metric; sending measurement data acquired during the step of conducting to a measurement analysis machine (MAM), the MAM being configured to analyze the measurement data; analyzing the measurement data; predicting performance of at least one of wireless voice and wireless data services based upon the results of the analysis step; generating a proposal for exclusive wireless services based upon the measurement data and the performance prediction; and providing the proposal to a subscriber. Systems for performing this and additional or alternative methods are also disclosed.

The disclosure relates to a method for discovery by a non-discoverable first public safety user equipment (PS UE), of a discoverable second PS UE in a public safety system comprising a telecommunications network providing a public safety spectrum for wireless access of the first PS UE and the second PS UE. The method can comprise for the first non-discoverable PS UE: transmitting synchronization information for the second PS UE; receiving at least one proximity announcement from the second PS UE in accordance with the transmitted synchronization information. The disclosure also relates to a non-discoverable public safety user device configured for performing the method, and relates to a PS server system arranged for assisting in the discovery of PS UEs.

Method and apparatus for receiving wireless communications

Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a method for down-converting a long-range communication signal that is wirelessly received via a first antenna of a communication device to extract a first version of a baseband signal, down-converting a short-range communication signal wirelessly received from a second device via a second antenna of the communication device to extract a second version of the baseband signal from the long-range communication signal that can be received at the second device, which is remote from the communication device, via a second antenna. The first version and second version of the baseband signal can be combined to generate an information signal that can be processed. Other embodiments are disclosed.

The subject terminal transmits identification information for specifying a location of the terminal through a wireless communication and receives a message directed to the subject, and notifies the subject of reception of the message by at least one output method. The server specifies the location of the subject terminal based on the identification information. The judgement unit judges whether the subject is present indoors or outdoors, based on the location of the subject terminal specified by the server and the map information stored in advance. The determination unit determines an output method of notification by the subject terminal according to the judgement result.

A robot detects, through a sensor, the location and movement direction of a user and an object near the user, sets a nearby ground area in front at the feet of the user according to the detected location and movement direction of the user, controls an illumination device in the robot to irradiate the nearby ground area with light while driving at least one pair of legs or wheels of the robot to cause the robot to accompany the user, specifies the type and the location of the detected object, and if the object is a dangerous object and is located ahead of the user, controls the illumination device to irradiate a danger area including at least a portion of the dangerous object with light in addition to irradiating the nearby ground area with light.
