INTEGRATED ROUTING ASSEMBLY AND SYSTEM USING SAME
A routing assembly for an electronic device has a plurality of connectors ports and each of the connector ports contains a first connector connected to one or more cables. Cables are directly terminated, at first ends thereof, to terminals of the first connectors and the cables can be embedded in a routing substrate. The routing substrate has an opening which accommodates a chip package. Second ends of the cables are terminated to second connectors arranged in the package opening and the second connectors are in turn connected to the chip package.

A reversible fiber optic cassette for mounting with other like cassettes in a rack comprising a cassette receiving tray, the tray comprising a plurality of cassette engaging features on an upper surface is disclosed. The cassette comprises a plurality of optic fiber receptacles arranged along a front thereof, a multifiber receptacle on a back thereof and a plurality of optic fiber segments each between a respective one of the optic fiber receptacles and the multifiber receptacle, a first tray engaging feature extending from the first surface and configured for engaging with one of the cassette engaging features, a second tray engaging feature extending from the second surface and configured for engaging with one of the cassette engaging features; and a release mechanism comprising an actuator for selectively disengaging the tray engaging feature from the engaged one of the cassette engaging features.
RFID antenna
A radio-frequency identification (RFID) antenna for a vending machine includes a controller and configured to selectively provide an item stored therein to a user. The RFID antenna includes a pair of short-circuited emitters, an antenna divider disposed between said pair of short-circuited emitters, a pair of cables each comprising a pair of low signal attenuation and feed points and each connecting respective one of said pair of short-circuited emitters to said antenna divider; and a connector coupled to said antenna divider for connecting said antenna divider to the controller of the vending machine.

An optical network architecture can include a first pair of tapered mixing rods and a second pair of tapered mixing rods. A first plurality of plastic optical fibers is communicatively coupled from the first pair of tapered mixing rods to a first plurality of line replaceable components, and a second plurality of plastic optical fibers is communicatively coupled from the second pair of tapered mixing rods to a second plurality of line replaceable components. At least one optical fiber communicatively coupled from the first pair of tapered mixing rods to the second pair of tapered mixing rods, the at least one optical transmission line comprising a hard clad silica optical fiber.
Keyless entry utilizing set-back box
Techniques are described for keyless entry to a structure (e.g., hotel room) utilizing a set-back box. Registrants (e.g., hotel guest) may scan a barcode from their mobile device to check-in to the structure. Upon scanning the barcode or by other means, a mobile device identifier (e.g., a Bluetooth low-energy address (BLE)) is registered and associated with the checked-in structure. Receiving the registered mobile device identifier, the backend server pushes such to the set-back box associated with (e.g., resides in) the checked-in structure. The set-back box is enabled (e.g., BLE enabled) to actively scan addresses of nearby mobile devices. When the registered mobile device identifier is detected within a predetermined signal strength range (e.g., by using received signal strength indicator (RSSI) levels), the set-back box transmits a command to a smart lock (e.g., via BLE or Wifi or other radio) or to a lock controlling backend processor, to open the lock.

Administering web-based access credentials
Methods and systems relating to administration of access credentials for electronic access control are disclosed. Web resources are provided for rendering a webpage including an access credential. A server device receives an access instruction authorizing a user to access an electronic lock associated with the access credential. A client device of the user transmits a first request for the access credential. The first request may be generated by a browser application of the client device. The server device provides the web resources and a browser cookie to the client device. Responsive to subsequent requests for the access credential, the server device determines whether the client device is authorized to receive the access credential based on the client device providing the browser cookie. When the server device determines that a subsequent request authorizes the client device to receive the access credential, the web resources are provided to the browser application.

Student safe dismissal
System and method managing dismissal of students from school to parents/guardians (custodians) safely to avoid injury to students from disorganized movement of vehicles or transfer of custody to unauthorized individuals. The procedure monitors and controls the admission of vehicles to a dismissal zone utilizing bar code registration. Other recognition methods such as RFID tags or facial recognition may be used. The registration may be displayed by the vehicle or the custodian. Students are dismissed from the building only when a custodian's vehicle enters the dismissal zone. The vehicles may be positioned in an order. Entry of the custodian vehicle is communicated into the school. There may be a school representative present in the dismissal zone with a scanner. The scanner may be in communication with teachers or a central control point within the school. The students may exit from the school in the order of standing vehicles of custodians.
