ORAL HYGIENE DEVICES, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS
20220160489 · 2022-05-26 ·

Oral hygiene devices, systems, and methods are disclosed herein. In some embodiments, the device comprises a disposable shaft configured to be releasably coupled to a reusable base. The shaft may include a head configured to engage an oral tissue and oral contents of a patient's oral cavity to dislodge one or more substances disposed on the oral tissue. In some embodiments, the shaft defines one or more lumens configured to transport a substance between the base of the device and the patient's oral cavity. The device can be configured to deliver a therapeutic agent to the patient's oral cavity to prevent and/or inhibit colonization of the oral cavity by pathogens. In particular embodiments, the device is configured to suction a substance out of the oral cavity and into the device to reduce a risk of the substance being aspirated into the patient's airways.

EXTERNAL HEAD APPARATUS FOR REDUCING THE TONE OF MASTICATORY MUSCLES IN PATIENTS WITH BRUXISM AND/OR OTHER CRANIOMANDIBULAR DYSFUNCTIONS (CMD)

An improved external head apparatus for reducing the tone of the masticatory muscles in patients with bruxism and/or other craniomandibular dysfunctions (CMD) includes two curved spring-tempered wires and two separate connecting elements. The external head apparatus has a plane of symmetry, which passes through the center of the curved spring-tempered wires. The two separate connecting elements are situated on different sides of the plane of symmetry.

Oral cavity washing device

An oral cavity washing device includes a nozzle and a pump that supplies a liquid to the nozzle. The nozzle has a nozzle flow passage and a reduced part that is disposed in an intermediate part of the nozzle flow passage and that is smaller in cross-sectional area than a rest of the nozzle flow passage. A first flow passage and a second flow passage that are in parallel to each other are disposed between the nozzle and the pump. The first flow passage has a first valve that causes the first flow passage to be opened only when the pump sucks the liquid. The second flow passage has a second valve that causes the second flow passage to be opened only during discharge performed by the pump.
