WIRELESS TRANSMISSION IN SHARED WIRELESS MEDIUM ENVIRONMENTS
20230216924 · 2023-07-06 · ·

Support of coexistence of wireless transmission equipment in shared wireless medium environments is disclosed, which is applicable to various types of wireless transmission equipment. For instance, a wireless power transmission system (WPTS) delivers power to wireless power receiver clients via transmission of wireless power signals using one or more frequencies and/or channels within shared wireless medium environments in which other wireless equipment is operating, such as access points and stations in wireless local area networks (WLANs). The WPTS is configured to co-exist with the operations of the other wireless equipment within the shared wireless medium environment by adapting its transmission operations to utilize frequencies or channels that do not interfere with other equipment and/or implementing co-channel and shared channels operations under which access to channels is implemented using standardized WLAN protocols such as PHY and MAC protocols used for 802.11 (Wi-Fi™) networks.

METHOD FOR DETERMINING THE ARRANGEMENT OF WAVE ENERGY CONVERTERS

Disclosed herein is a method for determining the arrangement of wave energy converters in a wave power park in a seabed or lake area including the steps of: measuring wavelength and wave direction over a period of time, collecting all values measured for the wavelength and the wave direction in a matrix, statistically determining, from the matrix, a predominant wavelength and a predominant wave direction, and arranging an amount X of wave energy converters at regular intervals over a distance that corresponds to half of the length of the predominant wavelength or a multiple thereof, where the distance is measured in a direction at least more or less parallel to the predominant wave direction.

Maximizing of energy delivery system compatibility with voltage optimization

A method, apparatus, system and computer program is provided for controlling an electric power system, including implementation of a voltage control and conservation (VCC) system used to optimally control the independent voltage and capacitor banks using a linear optimization methodology to minimize the losses in the EEDCS and the EUS. An energy validation process system (EVP) is provided which is used to document the savings of the VCC and an EPP is used to optimize improvements to the EEDCS for continuously improving the energy losses in the EEDS. The EVP system measures the improvement in the EEDS a result of operating the VCC system in the “ON” state determining the level of energy conservation achieved by the VCC system. In addition the VCC system monitors pattern recognition events and compares them to the report-by-exception data to detect HVL events. If one is detected the VCC optimizes the capacity of the EEDS to respond to the HVL events by centering the piecewise linear solution maximizing the ability of the EDDS to absorb the HVL event.

HYBRIDIZED TRANSMISSION SWITCHING FOR CONTINGENCY MANAGEMENT IN ELECTRIC POWER SYSTEMS

Disclosed herein are systems and methods to perform hybridized transmission switching of an electric power system to avoid exceeding line ratings and minimize load shedding.

A power prediction method includes obtaining evaluation metrics of models in a model pool, where the evaluation metrics are used to indicate precision of the models; selecting, based on the evaluation metrics, a first model for a power prediction on a first electrical unit; and presenting a result of the power prediction of the first electrical unit using the first model.

Ensuring safe servicing in a low-voltage network of the electric power distribution system

To ensure safety of people needing to service a low-voltage network of an electric power distribution system, dwellings being connected to this network may include autonomous units for producing electricity, thus generating voltage and endangering the people servicing the work. Data are obtained from consumption records from the meter of each dwelling, in regular time intervals, and meteorological data are also obtained in the geographical area of these dwellings, in order to identify at least some weather conditions conducive to the production of energy by autonomous units. A model is then applied for detecting, based on the first and second data, a coincidence between periods of lower consumption measured by a meter and weather conditions conducive to electricity production by autonomous units during these periods. Therefore, information on the presence of autonomous units in the dwelling can be deduced and given to people before their servicing.

Method for controlling electrical consumers of an electrical supply grid

A method for controlling an electrical consumer is provided. The electrical consumer is coupled to an electricity supply grid using a frequency converter. The electricity supply grid has a line voltage and is characterized by a nominal line voltage. The electricity supply grid is monitored for a grid fault in which the line voltage deviates from the nominal line voltage by at least a first differential voltage. When the grid fault occurs, the electrical consumer remains coupled to the electricity supply grid, and a power consumption of the electrical consumer is changed on the basis of the deviation of the line voltage from the nominal line voltage.

STRATEGIC RATIONING OF VEHICLE ENERGY FOR SUPPORTING HOUSEHOLD LOADS DURING POWER OUTAGES

Systems and methods are provided for coordinating and providing bidirectional energy transfer events between electrified vehicles and households or other structures, such as for supporting household loads associated with the structures during power outage conditions. In some implementations, available energy may be rationed from the vehicle to the structure based on a power outage restoration estimate. Rather than supporting household loads with constant energy during power outage conditions, the disclosed systems/methods may provide strategic rationing of bidirectional energy transfer in order to extend appliance operation for the duration of power outage conditions.
