MARINE LIFTING APPARATUS
A catamaran lifting apparatus is disclosed for lifting objects in a marine environment. The apparatus includes first and second vessels that are spaced apart during use. A first frame spans between the vessels. A second frame spans between the vessels. The frames arc spaced apart and connected to the vessels in a configuration that spaces the vessels apart. The first frame connects to the first vessel with a universal joint and to the second vessel with a hinged connection. The second frame connects to the second vessel with a universal joint and to the first vessel with a hinged or pinned connection. Each of the frames provides a space under the frame and in between the barges that enables a package to be lifted and/or a marine vessel to be positioned in between the barges and under the frames. In this fashion, an object that has been salvaged from the seabed can be placed upon the marine vessel that is positioned in between the barges and under the frames.
NEW HYBRID PROPULSION SYSTEM FOR BOATS AND SHIPS
A Hybrid Vessel Propulsion and Generation System diesel jet drive outboard and inboard motors, with an electrical generator attached to a prop shaft of the motors to generate electricity to power batteries. On large boats or ships with a gear change, the generator is mounted on the back of the gearbox and is attached to the prop shaft, with the generator being driven by rotation of the prop shaft and the drive of the gearbox. The system also incorporates electrically powered water thrusters and mechanical pressurised water turbines used for charging the batteries. The system also incorporates electric motors attached to propellers powered by electric batteries. Solar panels may be arranged in the port hole windows incorporating a housing, latch and lever arms to position them towards the sun.

An ultrasonic system for treating a submerged surface of a target structure, the system including: an ultrasonic generator for generating electrical energy to drive first and second ultrasonic transducers, the electrical energy including at least two different frequencies including a first and second operation frequency; first ultrasonic transducers configured to be mounted as a first array to the target structure, and connectable to the ultrasonic generator and operable to generate a first ultrasound signal from the first operation frequency; and second ultrasonic transducers configured to be mounted as a second array to the target structure, and connectable to the ultrasonic generator and operable to generate a second ultrasound signal from the second operation frequency, wherein the first and second ultrasonic transducers are spaceable from one another to produce guided ultrasonic waveforms through the target structure including heterodyned frequencies from the first ultrasound signal and the second ultrasound signal.
DEVICE FOR GENERATING POWER, COMPRISING AN AIR-TOWED VESSEL TOWING AT LEAST ONE WATER CURRENT TURBINE
A device for producing energy includes an air-towed vessel, and at least one water current turbine linked to the vessel by at least one electric cable. The water current turbine is linked to the vessel by at least one mechanical linking cable to be towed by the vessel. The water current turbine is spaced apart from the vessel, which makes it possible to increase the diameter of the turbine and to reduce the interactions between the turbine and the vessel. Moreover, it is then possible to provide a plurality of water current turbines towed by the same vessel.
Hybrid Power System
The invention relates to a hybrid power system (1). System (1) has an internal combustion engine (2), a gear box (3) having an input (4) connectable to the engine and an output shaft (5) to drive a vehicle, a first power drive and take off (10) releasably connectable to the gear box input, a second power drive and take off (30) releasably connectable to the gear box output, at least one motor/generator (21,41) connected the first and/or second power drive and take off, a connecting clutch (50) to releasable connecting the first and second power drive and take off, and a battery (60) to power or be charged by the or each motor generator.
Thruster electric power systems and associated methods
A mobile offshore drilling unit includes a plurality of electric thrusters to dynamically position the drilling unit, and a microgrid electric power generation system for providing power to the plurality of electric thrusters, the microgrid electric power generation system including at least one combustion generator electrically coupled to a main electric power bus and at least one thruster electric power system, the thruster electric power system including a thruster electric power bus, an additional electric power bus connected to the thruster electric power bus via an interface device, and a circuit breaker electrically coupling the additional electric power bus to a main electric power bus for isolating the thruster electric power bus from the main electric power bus in case of loss of power on the main electric power bus.
System and Method for Recharging Power Storage Devices on a Watercraft
A system for recharging power storage devices on a watercraft is disclosed herein. The system for recharging power storage devices on a watercraft includes a shell, at least one linear-channel fixedly mounted inside the shell, a turbine having at least one rotor and at least one shaft connected to the rotor, and a generator. The system for recharging power storage devices on a watercraft is useful for converting the rotational energy provided by the water flowing past the turbine rotor into electrical energy to charge a power storage device on a watercraft.
Ship assignment device, ship assignment method, program, and recording medium
A ship assignment device acquires voyage schedule information including an operation time schedule and a sailing route of a voyage. The ship assignment device acquires, from a database, weather information related to the operation time schedule and the sailing route included in the schedule information. The ship assignment device acquires information regarding variations in fuel consumption rate from a database that stores the information for each of plural ships. On the basis of the acquired weather information and acquired information regarding each ship, the ship assignment device calculates the fuel consumption for when each ship sails on the sailing route included in the acquired voyage schedule information in accordance with the operation time schedule included in the voyage schedule information. On the basis of the calculation result, the ship assignment device outputs information identifying plural ships.
System and method for voyage consumption optimization
A system and method for predicting, forecasting and suggesting voyage plans for a vessel by considering design parameters, weather in sailing routes and a user's preference for best weather or best economy or fastest way to reach the destination. Voyage plans are optimized using the above parameters, and directions are continuously provided in the form of heading and speeds to be maintained by the vessel during the course of the voyage.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR FLUID MANIPULATION
An intentional fluid manipulation apparatus (IFMA) assembly with a first thrust apparatus that imparts a first induced velocity to a local free stream flow during a nominal operation requirement. The first thrust apparatus creates a streamtube. A second thrust apparatus is located in a downstream portion of the streamtube. The second thrust apparatus imparts a second induced velocity to the local free stream flow. The second induced velocity at the location of the second thrust apparatus has a component in a direction opposite to the direction of the first induced velocity at the location of the second thrust apparatus.
