The presently described technology provides a pill crushing system. The pill crushing system may comprise a tablet crusher, a bowl-like structure, and an elongated cylindrical weighted rod. The tablet crusher may have an open mouth, a lower end of the tablet crusher and a cap. The lower end of the tablet crusher may have a closed base provided with a peripheral thread along surface wall of the closed base. The cap may have a peripheral thread for engagement with the peripheral thread of the tablet crusher. The threaded arrangement for the tablet crusher and the cap are such as to bring the cap close to the closed base of the tablet crusher into engagement with the cap upon turning the cap in one direction, whereby a pill interposed therebetween may be crushed. The bowl-like structure may have smooth surfaces such that a residue after a pill is grounded in the bowl-like structure is less than 2 wt % of the pill. The elongated cylindrical weighted rod may have smooth surfaces at one end.

An apparatus for dispensing a solid oral dosage form is provided that includes one or more channels, each configured to store a plurality of units of the solid oral dosage form and having an outlet for dispensing the units therefrom. The apparatus further includes a rotatable shaft and a nut located on the shaft and configured to translate upon rotation of the shaft. The apparatus further includes one or more tines configured to translate with the nut. Each of the tine extends into a respective channel and is configured to push the units of the solid oral dosage form along the length of the respective channel to the outlet. Rotation of the shaft about its axis causes the units of the solid oral dosage form to be dispensed from the outlets of the channel(s) due to the translation of the one or more tines within the respective channel.

The medicine dispensing system transfers the medicine dispensed in the sub unit to the main unit by means of a transfer device and dispenses the medicine at a medicine packing part together with the medicine dispensed from a main storage part in the main unit.

The present disclosure describes a medication container that includes a receptacle having an inner space for holding medications and a main housing coupled with the receptacle for retaining the medications in the inner space. The main housing can have an opening and a movable gate that can selectively open and close the opening. A singulator is located between the inner space of the receptacle and the opening and being shaped to only allow a single item, e.g., a medication item, to pass through the singulator to the opening at a time. The main housing may further have a generally funnel-shaped inner wall that extends a wide end adjacent the inner space of the receptacle to a narrow end adjacent the singulator for guiding the medications towards the singulator during a dispensing operation.

An aspect of the present disclosure is related to a medication dispensing device that includes a housing with an interior. A plurality of cartridge slots are located in the interior, and each of the cartridge slots includes a drive mechanism. A plurality of cartridges are removably disposed in respective ones of the cartridge slots. Each cartridge includes a stationary hub and a rotational wheel. The stationary hub has a window, and the rotational wheel has a plurality of medication chambers that contain medications. The rotational wheel is disposed in the stationary hub. The drive mechanism of the respective cartridge slot is operably connected with the drive wheel and is configured to rotate the rotational wheel relative to the stationary hub to selectively align the medication chambers with the window to dispense the medications contained in the medication chambers out of the cartridge.
