Insertable device to prevent aspiration of stomach contents during ventilation and intubation
A novel nasogastric tube, that when properly inserted within a person, blocks the esophagus of the person to prevent gastric contents from being aspirated. The tube can be left in place during direct langroscopy and the device can include a preferably inflatable balloon for obstructing the person’s esophagus. This balloon can be preferably provided on a slidable tube that allows for head movement/flexion without movement of the balloon placement. The tube can be a dual or single lumen device. With a duel lumen device, a first lumen can be connected to a suction tubing to suction gastric contents from the distal end of the tube, while the other lumen can open up above the cuff to allow for easier ventilation with a bag valve mask/BVM. A novel endotracheal tube and novel indwelling catheter also incorporating a balloon component are also disclosed.
FEEDING TUBE
A gastrostomy tube for enteral nutrition or medication of a subject, comprising a dual lumen first flexible tube with an internal retention device at an internal end and a substantially Y-shaped connector at an external end. A single lumen second flexible tube is connected at a first end to a main longitudinal channel of the dual lumen tube via the substantially Y-shaped connector. A second end of the second flexible tube is connectable to a nutrient or medicine source. The invention also relates to a kit of parts comprising a gastrostomy tube and a nutrient/medicine container attachable to the gastrostomy tube.
APPARATUS FOR HOLDING A TUBE AND ASSOCIATED METHOD OF USE
An apparatus and method for fitting a tube to a user, preferably but not exclusively for the face of the user. The apparatus comprises an elongate body including a first and second portion, the portions connected at a fold-line; the first portion including a first and second side; the second portion including a third and fourth side; wherein the first side and the third side are at least partially coated in a first adhesive; wherein the second side is at least partially coated in a second adhesive; and wherein the first adhesive provides a higher level of adhesion compared to the second; and wherein upon folding, the second and third sides face each other.
Apparatus for fluid delivery and lactation stimulation
The present invention provides a supplemental nutrition apparatus. The supplemental nutrition apparatus may comprise a reservoir coupled to and in fluid communication with a fluid passageway, wherein the fluid passageway is configured to communicate fluid from the reservoir to a fluid passageway outlet, and a support element configured to engage a user, to at least partially support the fluid passageway, and to position the fluid passageway outlet proximate to the user's nipple.
RESPIRATORY MASK WITH NASOGASTRIC TUBE PATH
A respiratory mask can be used to provide therapy to patients who also require a nasogastric (NG) tube. The mask seal can include a path that is designed to deform around an NG tube or other without lifting the mask away from a patient's face. The deforming path can help to minimize gaps that form between the patient's face and the mask seal as a result of the tube, thus reducing leaks and improving the efficacy of the treatment.
Feeding Cap, Drive Head, And Drive System
The present invention is comprised in the sector of the industry dedicated to the manufacturing of medical supplies, particularly focusing on containers for the artificial feeding of enteral feeding products through a tube. In particular, the present invention relates to a closure cap for a container for supplying enteral feeding products by means of the drive of a drive head, and it also relates to a drive head that can be coupled to the cap for driving the supply of enteral feeding products contained in a container, and in turn to a drive system formed by said cap and drive head.
Feeding tube visualization
An apparatus for determining a position of an object inside a body includes a first, detector configured to receive a signal from the object inside the body. The apparatus also includes a camera configured to capture an image or video of outside of a portion of the body, The object is positioned inside the portion of the body. A computing system is configured to receive the signal from the first detector and the image or video from the camera and to determine the position of the object Inside the body. A screen, is configured to display die position of the object inside the body.
ACOUSTIC REFLECTOMETRY DEVICE IN CATHETERS
A device and method for verifying the proper position of catheters in the body by means of acoustic reflectometry, the device including a sound source, one or more sound receivers, a tube with compliant walls and open distal end to be introduced through an entrance to a body cavity, the sound source and receiver(s) coupled to the proximal end of the tube, a processor for causing the sound source to generate an acoustic excitation signal, the processor processing the acoustic signals sensed by the sound receiver(s) and generating an approximation of the acoustic impulse response of the tube, and the processor analyzing the acoustic impulse response to determine the position of the tube in the body cavity.
Plaster for securing a tube
The invention provides a plaster for use in securing a tube to a patient. The plaster comprises a top layer having an upper surface, a lower surface, and a pull tab. The plaster also comprises a base layer having an upper surface, and a lower surface. At least a portion of the lower surface of the top layer or the upper surface of the base layer is provided with an adhesive for adhering the plaster to the tube. The lower surface of the base layer is provided with an adhesive for adhering the plaster to the patient. The top layer includes a hinge about which the pull tab can be oriented away from the skin of the patient.
Catheter Fixation Deivce
An external fixation system for percutaneous drainage procedures may include a base with a first and second side, a first coupler couplable to a conduit, and a second coupler couplable to a drainage bag or mechanism to flush or evacuate a drainage tube during use. The system may be modified to include a locking mechanism to secure conduit sutures. The system may also be used to convert a standard drainage tube into a low profile drainage tube. Also disclosed herein are methods and devices for converting standard feeding tubes into low profile feeding tubes.
