METHOD OF PREPARING MIRABILITUM PRAEPARATUM BY PURE STRAIN FERMENTATION AND ITS APPLICATIONS
20170326187 · 2017-11-16 ·

The present invention involves a method of preparing Mirabilitum Praeparatum by pure strain fermentation and its application in treating infectious and inflammatory diseases, as well as health products and cosmetics. The method involves blending the ripe fruit (watermelon) of Citrullus lanatus (Thumb.) Matsumu.et Nakai with Mirabilite (Na.sub.2SO.sub.4.10H.sub.2O) according to a certain ratio as culture media and the pure strain Penicillium rubens as zymocyte, and then fermenting under a certain temperature. The Mirabilitum Praeparatum prepared by present method is different from that of prepared by traditional technology significantly, and the present invention possesses more advantages than the traditional method. The Mirabilitum Praeparatum prepared by present method, its extract shows powerful antibacterial and anti-inflammatory activities, which can be prepared into pharmaceutical preparations to treat infectious diseases of mucous membrane and skin, such as cavum oris ulcer, paradentosis, glossitis, rhinitis, laryngopharyngitis, dermatitis, otitis media, uterine cervicitis, kysthitis, and other health products and cosmetics.

A PROCESS TO ENHANCE THE BIOACTIVITY OF ASHWAGANDHA EXTRACTS
20170326195 · 2017-11-16 ·

The invention relates to an extract of Ashwagandha that exhibit enhanced bioactivity and bioavailability comprising of enriched withanolide glycosides and saponins; with negligible amount of alkaloids, withanolide aglycones and oligosaccharides. The extract as disclosed prepared from root, stems, leaves and whole plant of Ashwagandha further shows improved immunomodulatory activity, anti-inflammatory activity, anti stress activity, antidiabetic activity and sleep quality. The disclosure also provides a method of improving bioactivity of withanolide glycosides even at lower doses, by the administration of an enteric coaled formulation of extract of Ashwagandha to humans. The enteric coaling protects the composition from hydrolysis in the acidic environment of the stomach to release the withanolide glycoside in neutral/alkaline pH in gastrointestinal tract (GIT) thus enhancing the absorption. Further the process of preparation of the extract of Ashwagandha enriched with withanolide glycosides and saponins are disclosed along with various formulations.

Method of maximizing epigallocatechin gallate content in tea
11260045 · 2022-03-01 · ·

This invention describes a new method to maximize the epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) content of brewed tea made using leaves and buds from C. sinensis. Unlike conventional tea processing methods, the method of the invention aims to minimize the leaf withering step, the oxidation step and any heating steps, all of which are present in many conventional tea processing methods. The method of the invention treats minimally withered tea leaf and bud material with an acid treatment and then a maceration treatment, optionally freezing the acid-treated material for storage purposes. The brewed tea resulting from the acid-treated and macerated leaves has a significantly higher EGCG content than conventionally produced teas.
