NEW TRIGLYCERIDE OBTAINED FROM A MACROCYBE TITANS EXTRACT, CLINICAL APPLICATIONS AND PRODUCTION METHOD
The present invention relates to a new triglyceride, of the formula 2R-TG (C18:2, 9z, 12z; C16:0; C18:1, 9z), extracted from an extract of the Macrocybe titans fungus. Likewise, its use as a medicine and its different clinical applications in the treatment of diseases regulated by the actin cytoskeleton are contemplated. Its use as an antitumoral agent in cancer diseases is mainly contemplated. Finally, the invention relates to the process for obtaining the Macrocybe titans extract that comprises the triglyceride of the invention.
USES OF ANTRODIA CINNAMOMEA EXTRACT IN MANUFACTURING PRODUCTS FOR REDUCING EXPRESSION AND TREATING ASSOCIATED DISEASES OF ANGIOTENSIN CONVERTING ENZYME 2
Disclosed herein are a method of treating, reducing the risk of, preventing, or alleviating angiotensin converting enzyme 2 (ACE-2) associated state in a subject, comprising administering to the subject a therapeutically effective amount of Antrodia cinnamomea extract (Ant-Ex) or fraction 3 thereof (AE-F03). Also provided herein are uses of Ant-Ex or AE-F03 in reducing ACE-2 expression and manufacturing a drug or a food supplement for treating, reducing the risk of, preventing, or alleviating ACE-2 associated state.
CANNABIS EXTRACTION SYSTEM AND METHOD
The system and method of the present invention provides an automated washing and extraction system and method to removed trichomes from cannabis product to create hash resin. Inconsistency is removed from the hash extraction process by automating the washing and extraction cycles thereof. The system and method records the data and tracks all user functions. Manual labor is removed or significantly reduced and time to create the final product is greatly lessened. Thus, more hash can be produced in a shorter amount of time. Moreover, the present invention allows the end user a controlled and accurate and efficient way of producing large quantities of solvent-free hash in a short amount of time while doing so in a consistent, repeatable and cost-effective manner.
METHOD OF PRODUCING PLANT-DERIVED EXOSOMES
A method of producing plant-derived exosomes from plant tissue culture based cell suspension cultures is provided. The method includes: obtaining the plant tissue culture based cell suspension culture; mixing the the plant tissue culture based cell suspension culture with an isolation solution; centrifuging to obtain a supernatant and an infranatant; and obtaining the plant-derived exosomes from the infranatant. The objective of the present invention is to produce homogenous plant exosomes with high volume and purity by making use of the advantages of the plant suspension culture to be used for purposes such as therapeutics and drug carriers.
TITRATED EXTRACTS OF CYNARA SCOLYMUS FOR USE IN THE TREATMENT OF MESOTHELIOMA
The present invention relates to a titrated extract of Cynara scolymus, to titrated fractions of extract of Cynara scolymus or titrated mixtures of said extract with one or more of said titrated fractions or mixtures of said fractions and to compositions and kits that comprise them for the prevention and/or the treatment of malignant pleural mesothelioma.
CARIBBEAN SEA MOSS TINCTURE
A tincture composition includes gel-free sea moss extract; about 80-90% by volume glycerin; about 10-18% by volume ethanol; and about 0.5-1.5% cinnamon oil. The total amount of glycerin, ethanol, and cinnamon oil is 100%. A method of producing the composition includes soaking sea moss in water; drying the sea moss; immersing the sea moss fully in glycerin; providing an extraction blend; blending the sea moss, the glycerin, and the extraction blend to form a suspension; straining the suspension to extract a tincture; and heating the tincture at 50-200 degrees Fahrenheit for 1-24 hours. The extraction blend includes, per 1 part by volume glycerin: 1/16 to 2 parts by volume ethanol and 1/100 to ¼ parts by volume of cinnamon oil. The tincture composition has an excellent shelf life and improved palatability. A binding agent may be added to prevent separation.
Method for isolation of cytisine
A method for isolating cytisine from plant material includes dissolving the plant material in an alcohol to form a liquid mixture, acidifying the liquid mixture by addition of a mineral acid, and concentrating the liquid mixture to form a concentrated aqueous solution. The method also includes extracting the concentrated aqueous solution with a first extractant to form a purified aqueous concentrate, alkalizing the purified aqueous concentrate with an alkaloid to form an alkaline aqueous concentrate, and extracting the alkaline aqueous concentrate with a second extractant. The method further includes removing the second extractant to obtain cytisine.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR EXTRACTION USING CARBON DIOXIDE
The invention provides a method for extraction of at least one extract compound from a material, comprising: a. contacting carbon dioxide with the material to dissolve an amount of the at least one extract compound from the material into the carbon dioxide; b. contacting the carbon dioxide comprising the at least dissolved extract compound with a sorbent to sorb the at least one extract compound onto the sorbent and for regenerating the carbon dioxide; c. recirculating the regenerated carbon dioxide; and d. repeating said recirculating at a constant density of said carbon dioxide of between 100 and 1000 kg/m.sup.3, and repeating said recirculating for at least 10 cycles.
