Crop Residue Spreader

An agricultural harvester with crop residue spreaders distributing crop residue laterally. Each crop residue spreader has a plurality of radially extending bats rotatable within a housing for directing residue from an axially directed inlet radially outward through an outer outlet. The housing has an outer wall with a height that increases axially in a uniform fashion around the periphery to minimize if not eliminate recirculation of residue to the inlet.

Combine harvester frame arrangement

A combine harvester is provided with left and right main frames that extend in the front-rear direction of a vehicle body, and a threshing device installed between the left and right main frames. The threshing device is provided with a threshing unit that performs a grain removal process, and a sorting unit that is provided below the threshing unit and performs a sorting process of sorting processed articles after the grain removal process has been performed by the threshing unit. A threshing frame included in the threshing unit is mounted on and supported by the left and right main frames, and a sorting unit frame included in the sorting unit is suspended from and supported by the left and right main frames.

The threshing apparatus 6 includes a threshing chamber 11 into which the crops are introduced, a threshing drum 12 that is provided in the threshing chamber 11 so as to rotate with the threshing drum axial center in the front-rear direction of the threshing chamber 11 serving as the rotation center, and which threshes the crops introduced into the threshing chamber 11, and a receiving net 13 provided in the outer periphery of the lower part of the threshing drum 12. The receiving net 13 is divided into a plurality of divided receiving net bodies 13A in the front-rear direction, the plurality of divided receiving net bodies 13A are operated to adjust, for each of the plurality of divided receiving net bodies, the interval S in the radial direction of the threshing drum 12 between the divided receiving net body 13A and the threshing drum 12.

System and method for destroying seeds in crop residue prior to discharge from agricultural harvester

A system processes seeds that are present in crop material. The system includes a first shearing surface, a second shearing surface arranged opposite the first shearing surface, and a clearance between the first shearing surface and the second shearing surface. The system passes crop material between the first and second shearing surfaces, where the crop material contacts the shearing surfaces as it passes through the shearing surfaces. Contact with the first and second shearing surfaces damages seeds that are present in the crop material. The system can be installed in an agricultural harvester to damage seeds that are present in crop residue to prevent the seeds from germinating after the crop residue is discharged from the agricultural harvester back into the field.

A Stone Trap Assembly for a Harvester

A stone trap assembly including an entrance and an exit. The entrance receives objects from a crop flow path for accumulation into the assembly during a harvesting operation, and the exit allows evacuation of the accumulated foreign objects out of the assembly during an evacuation operation. The assembly further includes a door configured to be rotatable around a first rotation axis, substantially transverse to the crop flow path, for movement along a door movement trajectory between a closed position and an evacuation position, and an impeller for forcing the accumulated foreign objects towards the exit. The impeller is configured to be rotatable around a second rotation axis, substantially transverse to the crop flow path, for movement along an impeller movement trajectory between a retracted position and an extended position closer towards the exit. The door and impeller are separately movable during at least a part of the trajectories.

Chaff spread assisted by cross-blown airflow

A spreader for a harvesting machine includes a pair of counter-rotating spreader units each having an impeller and a fan supported on a common shaft. A plenum routes at least part of the airflow from a first fan to merge with chaff exiting the opposite impeller and at least a part of the airflow from the opposite fan to merge with chaff exiting the impeller on the machine side of the first fan. In one embodiment all airflow from a fan is ducted to an impeller on the opposite side, while a second embodiment commingles airflow from both fans in a plenum from which portions of the mixed airflows is directed to the chaff exiting each impeller exit. In a third, embodiment an established airflow receives chaff from the impeller on the side on which that airflow is generated.

Weed seed devitalization arrangement

A weed seed devitalization arrangement for use with a. combine harvester, attached to the combine harvester, towed behind, or standalone. The weed seed devitalization arrangement receives weed seeds entrained in a. portion of the air and material previously discharged from a combine harvester or other crop/lawn cutung apparatus. The weed seed devitalization arrangement includes a roton'stator arrangement including but not necessarily excluding other elements, one or more stationary substantially circular array of weed seed impact members, the members being arranged so as to impact weed seeds being provided into the substantially circular array; and one or more rotatable substantially circular array of weed seed impact members, the rotatable array movable with respect to a stationary substantially circular array of weed seed impact members, the impact members of the rotatable substantially circular array arranged to impact weed seeds being directed through the rotatable substantially circular array. Another element may be a driven rotating clement at or near the central portion of the rotor/stator arrangement for receiving the portion of air and material discharged from the combine harvester entrained with weed seeds and for providing a flow of air and entrained material including weed seed into the arrays of the arrangement.
