SOD HANDLING APPARATUS
A method of stacking sod rolls can include the steps of: a) moving a head of a sod handling apparatus into a sod pickup location containing a plurality of sod rolls; b) picking-up a first sod roll with a first sod carrier, picking-up a second sod roll with a second sod carrier, and picking-up a third sod roll with a third sod carrier; c) moving the head to a sod drop-off location; d) releasing the first sod roll from the first sod carrier at the sod drop-off location; e) after releasing the first sod roll, moving the second sod carrier toward the first sod carrier and moving the third sod carrier toward the first sod carrier to reduce the spacing between the second and third rolls of sod; and f) depositing the second sod roll and third sod roll at the drop-off location.
PLANT WATERING AND COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
A method for watering plants using a self-contained high pressure distribution system with a water reservoir. A mini gear pump is used for pumping water to pressure compensated drip emitters at individual plants. A method for monitoring soil moisture content and programming of individual watering of plants through an energy efficient wireless networking system. The high-pressure water in the plant watering system is used as a communication physical channel for the wireless networking for improving wireless communication range and battery life of wireless terminals. Chip-level Differential Encoding based Spread Spectrum signaling is used for reducing wireless networking solution cost, improving wireless link budget, improving immunity to interference, and increasing battery life of wireless terminals.
PEPPER HYBRID SV0628PB
The invention provides seed and plants of pepper hybrid SV0628PB and the parent lines thereof. The invention thus relates to the plants, seeds and tissue cultures of pepper hybrid SV0628PB and the parent lines thereof, and to methods for producing a pepper plant produced by crossing such plants with themselves or with another pepper plant, such as a plant of another genotype. The invention further relates to seeds and plants produced by such crossing. The invention further relates to parts of such plants, including the fruit and gametes of such plants.
METHOD AND SYSTEM TO MAP BIOLOGICAL PESTS IN AGRICULTURAL FIELDS USING REMOTELY-SENSED DATA FOR FIELD SCOUTING AND TARGETED CHEMICAL APPLICATION
A method for precisely applying chemicals targeted by digital maps developed from remotely sensed data, including: obtaining EOS data through a growing season of a crop growing in a field; processing the EOS data to reflectance values, removing error-inducing effects of atmospheric alteration from the processed EOS data; calculating from the processed EOS data a crop performance index that indicates one or more poor performing area of the field; generating one or more maps of the crop performance index to allow a user to determine whether each of the one or more poor performing areas of the field are due to biological pests instead of topographic or soil constraints in discrete locations of the field, guiding the user to the one or more poor performing areas of the field using the one or more maps to allow the user to scout the one or more poor performing areas of the field to confirm and identify the biological pests; and providing guidance for a chemical application at the one or more poor performing areas that were confirmed as having the biological pests. Other embodiments are provided.
Automated hydroponic greenhouse factory
Plants are grown in adjacent rows of trays that are rotated within a pool of a nutrient solution. The roots of the plants are at least partly immersed in the nutrient solution. Each row includes a gap wide enough to receive a single tray from an adjacent row. Using three rows, the plants are planted only in one of the rows, and later the rotation is used to space the planted trays one tray apart. Each tray is a parallelepipedal block with apertures for supporting respective plants. The long sides of the blocks have protrusions for preventing adhesion of the blocks. Airlift pumping circulates the nutrient solution past the roots and maintains at least 80% dissolved oxygen saturation in the nutrient solution. A screen of parallel inflatable tubes provides adjustable shade above the pool.
Watermelon line TCSEJ12-2622
The invention provides seed and plants of the watermelon line designated TCSEJ12-2622. The invention thus relates to the plants, seeds and tissue cultures of watermelon line TCSEJ12-2622, and to methods for producing a watermelon plant produced by crossing a plant of watermelon line TCSEJ12-2622 with itself or with another watermelon plant, such as a plant of another line. The invention further relates to seeds and plants produced by such crossing. The invention further relates to parts of a plant of watermelon line TCSEJ12-2622, including the fruits and gametes of such plants.
METHODS FOR THE PRODUCTION OF PERENNIAL ARTICHOKE PLANTS
The present disclosure relates to methods for the cultivation of perennial artichoke plants. Specifically, the present disclosure relates to methods of cultivating artichoke plants to increase the uniformity and yield of marketable products (e.g. edible mature buds), and to accurately program and condense the harvest interval of artichoke plants grown as perennials in a planting field in order to reduce production and harvesting costs.
METHOD FOR CULTIVATION OF HYBRID MINT PLANT DESIGNATED 13-S12-2 FOR PRODUCTION OF ESSENTIAL OIL COMPOSITION
A hybrid mint plant characterized by an essential oil composition profile, methods of cultivating the hybrid mint plant, and methods of producing an essential oil composition with the essential oil composition profile using the hybrid mint plant are disclosed.
Modular tray
A modular tray is provided for covering a portion of a surface with vegetation in a growth medium. The tray includes a pair of sidewalls, and a lower end wall and an upper end wall extending between and interconnecting the ends of the sidewalls such that the walls define a perimeter of the tray. A bottom wall extends between and interconnects the ends of the sidewalls and the lower end wall and extends in a plane disposed at an angle with the respect to the longitudinal axis of the sidewalls. Each of a plurality of platforms extends between and interconnects the sidewalls and are disposed at an angle with respect to the longitudinal axis of the sidewalls. Each of a plurality of risers extends between the rear edge of a platform to the front edge of an adjacent platform. The tray is water impermeable for accommodating the growth medium and vegetation.
