Bee Nourishment System
20220378021 · 2022-12-01 ·

A bee nutrition device is configured with a frame positionable between the brood chamber and honey super components of a stacked bee hive. Fondant and/or water or nurturing liquid is positionable within trays located within a recess located with a sidewall of the frame of the device. Access into and out of the recess for bees can be regulated by a translating member having openings therein which can be selectively aligned with the central opening communicating through the bottom surface of the frame.

Honeybee Swarm Trap
20220369603 · 2022-11-24 ·

A Honeybee Swarm Trap to provide an inexpensive but sturdy bee box for keeping bees that is flexible in its application. To propagate beehives a beekeeper commonly uses a swarm catcher. These swarm catchers are placed near existing beehives, typically those naturally occurring, a swarm trap may be placed near the location of original beehive. Scout bees can visit the swarm trap and assess the trap for a swarm or propagated swarm to take up residence. Once the honeybee swarm take up residence in the swarm trap, the beekeeper can move the swarm to another location to house the honeybee colony.

Carbon-rich micro-particles for protecting bees and overcoming colony collapse disorder

Compositions and methods for protecting bees from toxins and for preventing or decreasing colony collapse are provided. The compositions comprise carbon microparticles which, when ingested by bees, increase their survival after exposure to toxins such as pesticides.

A wasp feeding station (1) has a base frame (2) with a liquid food storage tank (3) mounted on the base frame (2) for storing liquid food for wasps. Mounted on top of the base frame (2) is a liquid food reservoir (4) which is supplied with liquid food from the storage tank (3). The storage tank (3) and the reservoir (4) have heaters which are operable to maintain the liquid food within a desired temperature range. A weather protection dome (5) is mounted on top of the reservoir (4). Access ports (8) on each side of the dome (6) allow through passage of wasps to feed at the reservoir (4).
