The article includes a first volatile liquid substrate contained within a first frangible capsule, the frangible capsule being located between the distal end and the mid-point, and a second volatile liquid substrate contained within a second frangible capsule, the second frangible capsule being located between the distal end and the mid-point. The article also includes a liquid retention medium, at least a portion the liquid retention medium being located between the distal end and the mid-point, wherein the article is configured to allow air to be drawn through the article from the distal end to the outlet end.

The shisha device is configured to prevent piercing of the cartridge until the cartridge is inserted into a receptacle of the device. Piercing of the cartridge may require a step separate from insertion of the cartridge into the receptacle of the shisha device. A method for mixing an aerosol precursor liquid for aerosolized delivery of a functional component by an aerosol delivery device comprises bringing the tobacco-derived medium carrying the functional component into contact with fluid and allowing the fluid to saturate the medium to thereby cause the medium to release the functional component into said fluid to form an aerosol precursor liquid infused with the functional component. A receptacle comprising a chamber for the carrier is provided for mixing the aerosol precursor liquid. Example functional components include nicotine and nicotine salts.

An aerosol generating device is disclosed comprising a heater for generating an aerosol and a vapour flow passage configured to transport the generated aerosol from the heater to a mouth end of the vapour flow passage. The vapour flow passage is extendable such that a length between the heater and the mouth end is adjustable.

An article for use in a non-combustible aerosol provision system includes an aerosol-generating section with a plurality of strands and/or strips of aerosol-generating material. The aerosol-generating section is circumscribed by a moisture impermeable wrapper and a cooling section is provided directly adjacent to the aerosol-generating section. The cooling section can have at least one of a hollow channel having an internal diameter of between about 1 mm and about 4 mm or a maximum of 32% of the cross-sectional area of the cooling section being a hollow channel. The present disclosure relates to aerosol delivery devices comprising a power unit and a cartridge that is configured for engagement with the power unit. In particular, the cartridge can be configured for rotation about a longitudinal axis thereof so as to be insertable into a chamber of the power unit in a plurality of different orientations. Further, the aerosol delivery device can include processing circuitry that can be configured for detection of the cartridge orientation and execution of a control function assigned to the respective orientation.
