Upper for an article of footwear and method of lasting the upper
In one aspect, the present disclosure provides a method. The method may include placing an upper on a last, where the upper includes a lower perimeter edge secured to a lasting element, and where the last includes an opening for receiving the lasting element. The method may further include feeding the lasting element at least partially through an opening of the last and tensioning the lasting element to tighten the upper around the last by pulling the tensioning element at least partially through the opening.

“X” stitching method for mounting uppers by means of the string-lasting system
This is a patent application for an X stitching method, specifically intended for the assembly of uppers by the system known as tied string—stringlaster, with particular application in the footwear segment. The invention includes application to an upper (1), for full assembly of shoes, using string traction (2) as the responsible element for closing the edges of this upper (1), against the mold (3); with the overlock type stitching hereby used as an example of realization.

METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING A SHOE UPPER
The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a shoe upper, including the steps of: providing at least one stretchable portion on the shoe upper; stretching the at least one stretchable portion of the shoe upper for adapting a size of the shoe upper; and permanently attaching at least one rigid element at least partly on the stretched stretchable portion so that the stretched stretchable portion is locked.

Method for manufacturing light-weight waterproof shoe/boot
A method for manufacturing a light-weight waterproof shoe/boot includes steps of cutting waterproof leather, arranging and stacking vamp section, forming through hot pressing, sewing heel section, hot-pressing heel section, combining midsole, and injecting sole to accompany fabrication of a waterproof shoe/boot, in which fabrication of a vamp section and a shaft section is accomplished through hot pressing the waterproof leather that is coated with a hot-melt adhesive; a sewing line of a heel section is covered by a heel water-resistant plate that is attached thereto through hot pressing to provide an effect of waterproofness; and a sewing line between a midsole and the vamp section is covered by an upper rim of a sole to achieve an effect of waterproofness. The vamp section and the shaft section are made with the waterproof leather that is light and thin so that the weight of the waterproof shoe/boot is greatly reduced.
Shoe upper mounting machine with string lasting means
A shoe upper mounting machine with a string lasting means is designed for mounting a shoe upper using a string lasting means for the footwear mounting sector with high-productivity, using the string lasting method of sewing the edges with a lasting string. The invention includes the use of this technology in footwear models which are normally excluded because they have sturdy, not flexible shoe uppers which are difficult to conform using string lasting. It is sufficient to provide a shoe upper with new dimensions suitable for this mounting technology. The machine is capable of lasting any string and adjusting any shoe upper to the form, provided these materials conform with acceptable quality standards for footwear components. The invention is characterized by a module (3) for fitting shoe uppers onto the form (F), a string lasting module (4), and optionally a module (5) for coupling and uncoupling the couplable footwear form.
