HAIR STYLING DEVICE
A hair styling device (10) comprises first and second arms ((12), (14)), each arm having a handle portion ((18), (20)) coupled to a clamping portion ((22), (24)). The arms are coupled to each other at a first end adjacent the handle portions, allowing the clamping portions to be moveable relative to each other between an open position and a closed position in which a curl forming apparatus may be held between the clamping portions. The clamping portion (22) of the first arm (12) houses a heater element and includes a concave shaped surface heatable by the heater element. The clamping portion (24) of the second arm (14) includes a convex shaped clamping surface. When the clamping portions are in a closed position, the heatable surface of the first arm and the clamping surface of the second arm are spaced apart by a separation distance.
FLEXIBLE HEATING DEVICE
A flexible heating device for hair shaping is disclosed. The flexible heating device in the form of a sheet, for hair shaping, comprises a heating layer comprising at least one flexible heater which can be supplied with electrical power, a flexible heat conductive layer provided on one surface of the heating layer, and a flexible heat insulation layer provided on the other surface of the heating layer, wherein the device is capable of forming an occlusive or closed space around the hair.
Multi-function actuator for adjusting two or more hair appliance variables
Exemplary embodiments of hair styling appliances having a multi-function actuator are provided herein. In general, the disclosed embodiments of hair styling appliances may include a multi-function actuator configured for adjusting settings of one or more hair appliance variables. In one embodiment, the multi-function actuator may include at least two separate actuators, which are assembled together on the hair styling appliance to look like one component, yet are configured to be actuated independently of one another. In one embodiment, the multi-function actuator may be ergonomically positioned on the hair styling appliance for easily accessible manipulation and actuation with the user's thumb. In one embodiment, the multi-function actuator may comprise a push button and dial combination. In one embodiment, the push button may be used to select temperature and/or time, and the dial may be used to adjust the temperature and/or time to a desired setting.
