A multifunctional modular furniture unit and system is developed to build a various type of furniture and housing and office accessories that are used in interior design. The multifunctional modular furniture system comprises a plurality of modular units and a plurality of support units. The modular units comprise a top block unit, a link block unit, and a bottom block unit. The support units comprise a support strap and a connection cap. The various furniture can be built utilizing attaching the modular units to each other and using the support units to reinforce a furniture structure.

A bookcase is disclosed having a base, a top panel, and four sides extending vertically from the base to the top panel and defining four vertically extending corners. The bookcase also includes a plurality of corner cabinets extending along the corners and defining a plurality of compartments therebetween. Each corner cabinet includes at least one first shelf for storing books. The bookcase further includes a plurality of cabinets arranged inside the plurality of compartments. Each cabinet includes a plurality of second shelves. Each second shelf is adapted to be removed or moved to a stored position to provide leg space for a user sitting on a chair and using the top panel as a work surface.

A bookcase is disclosed having a base, a top panel, and four sides extending vertically from the base to the top panel and defining four vertically extending corners. Modular building blocks may be used to provide furniture or other items. Each modular building block has a number of interleaved layers that provide first and second arms of the building block. Each modular building block comprises a first engageable finger section formed from one or more of the interleaved layers and a second engageable finger section formed from two or more interleaved layers. The second engageable finger section of one modular building block receives the first engageable finger section of another modular building block allowing various arrangements to be assembled.

Modular building blocks may be used to provide furniture or other items. Each modular building block has a number of interleaved layers that provide first and second arms of the building block. Each modular building block comprises a first engageable finger section formed from one or more of the interleaved layers and a second engageable finger section formed from two or more interleaved layers. The second engageable finger section of one modular building block receives the first engageable finger section of another modular building block allowing various arrangements to be assembled.

A tonneau cover is provided. That tonneau cover includes a panel, a first set of folding legs carried on the panel and a second set of folding legs carried on the panel. The first set of folding legs have a first length L.sub.1 while the second set of folding legs have a second length L.sub.2 where L.sub.1>L.sub.2. Depending upon which set of folding legs is deployed, the panel may be converted into a table or a bench as desired.

A workstation includes a frame supporting a work surface upon which a task can be completed and/or an item can be stored. The workstation can include a drive system for adjusting a height of the work surface above a surface supporting the workstation.
