A PROCESS FOR PRODUCING A SURFACE-MODIFIED 3-DIMENSIONAL ARTICLE BY ADDITIVE-MANUFACTURING, 3-DIMENSIONAL ARTICLE WITH A MODIFIED SURFACE AND USE THEREOF
A process of producing a surface-modified 3-dimensional article, the process comprising the steps of providing a radiation-curable composition, building-up a 3-dimensional article by radiation-curing the radiation-curable composition layer by layer, preferably by using a stereolithography or digital light processing unit, partially removing radiation-curable composition which sticks to the surface of the 3- dimensional article, treating only a portion of the surface of the 3- dimensional article to which the radiation-curable composition is stuck with particles, applying an additional curing step to the 3-dimensional article, preferably by applying heat and/or radiation. A 3-dimensional article which can be obtained by such a process and a kit of parts comprising such a 3-dimensional article.
DENTAL BLANK, DENTAL PARTIAL PROSTHESIS AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING A DENTAL PARTIAL PROSTHESIS
A dental blank, having an upper surface and a lower surface, constructed of a flesh-coloured material and a tooth-coloured material. The flesh-coloured material and the tooth-coloured material are bonded together. The interface between the materials with elevations and depressions formed in or at the interface extends through an optionally curved plane, which plane is parallel to or oblique to at least part of the surfaces of the blank.
DENTAL BLOCK FORMING A BLANK FOR A PARTIAL PROSTHESIS, DENTAL PARTIAL PROSTHESIS AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING A DENTAL PARTIAL PROSTHESIS
The present invention relates to a dental blank, in particular a parallelepipedal block, having an upper surface and a lower surface, which is composed of a flesh-coloured material and a tooth-coloured material. The flesh-coloured material and the tooth-coloured material are bonded together. The interface between the materials with elevations and depressions formed in or at the interface extends through an optionally curved plane, which plane is parallel to or oblique to at least a portion of the surfaces of the blank.
PROCESS FOR THE PREPARATION OF A DENTAL RESTORATION
The invention relates to a process for the preparation of a dental restoration, in which an oxide ceramic material is (a) subjected to at least one heat treatment, and (b) cooled, wherein the cooling comprises (b1) a first cooling step with the cooling rate T1 and (b2) a second cooling step with the cooling rate T2 and wherein the absolute value of the cooling rate T2 is less than the absolute value of the cooling rate T1.
COMPUTER IMPLEMENTED METHODS FOR DENTAL DESIGN
Computer implemented method of generating a dental design, comprising: a) capturing a facial image comprising a head of a patient and a smile; b) displaying it as a first image; c) capturing a 3D intraoral scan; d) aligning the 3D scan to the head; e) determining bounding boxes in the 3D scan, each comprising a single tooth; f) showing a view of the 3D scan and the bounding boxes as a second image; g) showing the bounding boxes as overlay on the first image; i) allowing the bounding boxes to be resized/repositioned; ii) defining a limited set of parameters to characterize the tooth inside the bounding box, and searching a number of candidate matching teeth from a 3D digital library of teeth, and proposing a candidate matching tooth; iii) overlaying the first image with a digital representation of the proposed candidate matching tooth from the digital library.
Methods and apparatuses for customizing a rapid palatal expander
Methods for designing and fabrication of a series of apparatuses for expanding a patient's palate (“palatal expanders”). In particular, described herein are methods and apparatuses for forming palatal expanders, including rapid palatal expanders, as well as series of palatal expanders formed as described herein and apparatuses for designing and fabricating them.
Direct fabrication of aligners for arch expansion
Systems, methods, and devices for producing appliances for expansion of the arch of a patient are provided. An arch expanding appliance comprises a force generating portion to apply an arch expansion force and a retention portion to hold the force generating portion on the teeth. The retention portion comprises a flexible portion and a stiff portion. The force generating portion applies a force to move teeth associated with the flexible portion, while the stiff portion resists movement of its associated teeth. The orthodontic appliances can be designed according to the specifications provided herein and manufactured using direct fabrication methods.
Fixation base and guides for dental prosthesis installation
Apparatus and method for installing a multi-tooth dental prosthesis in one session are shown and described. A first tool attaches to the jawbone, and serves as a foundation for subsequently used guides. Existing teeth and dental fixtures are removed, and the bone tissue is removed to accommodate the prosthesis. Subsequently, a drill guide is used to drill implant holes. An abutment guide is then used to place abutments. Copings are then installed. Next, the prosthesis may be installed and cemented to the copings. A resinous filler material may be applied to fill gaps and holes in and between the copings and the prosthesis, and is sanded smooth.
Multilayer dental appliances and related methods and systems
A dental appliance for positioning a patient's teeth includes a removable orthodontic tooth positioning appliance having teeth receiving cavities shaped to directly receive at least some of the patient's teeth and apply a resilient positioning force to the patient's teeth. The appliance includes a hard polymer layer having a hard polymer layer elastic modulus disposed between a first soft polymer layer having a first soft polymer layer elastic modulus and a second soft polymer layer having a second soft polymer layer elastic modulus. The hard polymer layer elastic modulus is greater than each of the first soft polymer layer elastic modulus and the second soft polymer layer elastic modulus. At least one of the first soft polymer layer and the second soft polymer layer has a flexural modulus of greater than about 35,000 psi.
Simulation method and system for an optimized implant site
The invention describes a computer-implemented method and an optimized implant site simulation system which performs a simulation of a damaged oral cavity of a patient and defines an implant site adapted to receive a dental implant to repair the damage observed. The invention further describes the optimized implant site simulated (SI) and a dental implant (ID) couplable to the optimized implant site (SI) simulated. The invention further describes a computer program to perform the steps of the method and an optimized implant site (SI) simulation system.
